The best husabergs?

I've only had one dirt bike, one trials bike, and various downhill mtb's. So I can't really compare it to anything. BUT, my 390 feels perfect.

I tried to ride a smets replica once but couldn't the front end kept lifting. Where are those bikes?

I think the best enduro and motard bike is the 650 2006/2008 because it has power that a 450 will never have, the same weight and less maintenance. I speak as a motorcyclist who does a few thousand km a year, and my opinion is not based on professional rider needs.

The power of the 650, what endure bike comes close to that sort of power and weight.
The Honda CR500 is a **** cart when compared to the 650 berg, when a mate got rid of his CR500 and always being a devout Honda man went and bought his 07 berg he was getting about bagging the CR500 saying what a ill handling heavy bucket of **** that it was, sure it went fast and could scare you rearing up like they do, but you can not enjoy the bike really or totally like the 650 gives you back all the time and the CR is some what like a bull to ride, yes that's fun but the 650 can blow a CR500 into the weeds anywhere with ease, it does not try to bight you, you just hammer it and if you f up it's your fault not the bikes.
.

disagree to agree.
i love cr500
i have had both at the same time,,cr500 and husaberg 650
theres things the husaberg cant do and visa versa
if i had to choose only one it would be the cr500
you're not wrong, you're just incorrect.

Great Thread; Long time lurker, first time posting. So is the FE 400 just anemic for the weight? Are there any advantage to the smaller displacement?

7 bregs here I can't makeup mind? I'm getting a headache thing about it....... worst one is the one waiting for parts.

There's nothing wrong with the 400. I picked up an '02 recently. Been enjoying the heck out of it on tight single track and even at a local motocross track. Light, nimble, and, if you know how to maintain momentum, you can keep most guys on newer 450's behind you. I wouldn't expect it to do as well in the open desert but it'll hold it's own.

I got 45bhp at the rear wheel out of mine. best thing you can do is fit the 53 cam, that really peps them up.

Second favourite 2008 450. Ktm quality and outlasts Honda xr 400. No silly main bearing strain......okay heavy and rammed in kein carb and steel not aluminium bits in the motor but who really wants to live with a works bike maintenance.

!

Did the 08 450 have actual improvements over the 07 450 that make the 08 more desirable?
