Thanksgiving at Ocotillo Wells, Ca.

Should anyone be brave enough to venture out to Ocotillo Wells for the Thanksgiving holiday we will be camped in a group somewhere near Blowsand Hill from Wednesday 11/23 to Saturday 11/26. Look for the Husaberg canopy. Stop by and say hi. If after 5:00pm stop by and have a beer

Thanksgiving is really not my favorite time to go but you have to take the time off when you can get it. Also it kicks off the riding season here. All the crazies will be out in full force looking for attention so be careful.

I agree with you about riding during the holidays, but like you said you've got to go when you get the chance. Ocotillo wells is to far for me me but it looks like a real blast. I'll be heading to Twain Harte over the holiday weekend with my family and some friends. My son has not ridden since aug. due to football so I'm really looking forward to riding with him.

If you ever want to check it out there is a motel, right in the offroad park, Desert Ironwoods Motel, which makes it easy if you don't have a camper.

Sometime in the future I'll be putting on a group ride if anyone is interested. From Ocotillo Wells you can ride over to the Salton Sea, Truckhaven Hills, SUPERSTITION MOUNTAIN OPEN AREA, PLASTER CITY OPEN AREA and if you are plated you may enter the Anza borrego Desert State Park which has over 600,000 acres to explore.

This would actually be a great place for a "Force Ride" someday as it is vast and mostly easy terrain.

I am interested in checking you guys out when you goto Ocotillo. I am supposed to go to Glamis so maybe I will stop in and say hello.I am trying to sell my 2003 XR 650 so I can buy a fe650! I hear they are the bike to have, and everyone says it will stomp on my XR which is hooked up, Cam, pipe, suspension, etc....My ne is Vince and I will be in a F250 with a XR in the bck...see ya in Ocotillo!
