Rick Bozarth, aka BOSS, left the comfort of of his home and shop in Portland, Oregon today and is heading to Vegas. Rick will put everything he has into a solo/ironman effort in the USA's longest offroad race of 601 miles aboard his trusty 2006 Husaberg FE650! The race is part of the Best In The Desert series.
~~~~BITD race~~~~
Rick has been training for months in anticipation of this race and I just wanted to aknowledge and let all you Husaberg brothers know what the BOSS has on his plate.
601 Miles! I can't even imagine. He says it is expected to take approx. 12 hours. Crapola, that's an average speed of 50 mph flying through the desert! Not only do I wish him luck, but most importantly a safe ride and safe return.
Ride on BOSS.
Good luck BOSS. The rad guards are high quality and an outstanding value.
Jusy wanted to find out how rick did in the race :?:
Anyone know?
I did see where 2 other bergs made class 1st and 2nd, i think it was in the 30 and 40 expert class's :D
I pitted Rick at pit 14 just about 100 miles from the finish and he was in 15 O/A and I think about 4 place in the over 40 pro class. I was using a regular gas can to fill his dry break system and overfiilled him a bit :oops: this let the gas run down the backbone and into the air filter and of course it made it run real fat and he lost about 4 or 5 minutes and 1 position because of my Sh*tty pit service. I saw the un offical results and I think he was 18 O/A. Hella job for a IRON MAN
Way to go BOSS. Good showing by the brand as you pointed out above.
BTW team Honda were the first 2 bikes through with Steve H ahead of Campbell by 2:30 and Campbell ahead of 3 place by........................................50 minutes they must cut the corse :twisted: or they are just head and shoulders above the rest of the feild.
The pic link Coffin posted is Mike Cleveland. He was on a team in the over 40 ex of which they placed 2nd. We also had a team in the over 30 ex of which they won. Both on 650's
If I understand these results correctly, although Bozarth finished 18th overall, he finished 2nd out of the solo riders and first in his class (solo riders)....Over 40 Pro?
Very impressive Rick! Great job. Glad to see that the Saturday night festivities at the dealer meeting the weekend before the race did not impact your results :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:
Woohoo. Great job Rick. I hope BMG can get a little hype (marketing) from this.
No more BMG ,as of yesterday Dixie sales,although a BMG company it operates from the US.Also the new home for Gas Gas.
Nothing really,Dixie sales is a wholly owned BMG co.They are huge in the parts distribution business and as such better equipped to step into the next phase of husaberg development.Its all good....nice to see that they are stepping up and taking a bigger role in the NA motorcycle market.
