there is an O-ring chain on my bike, but what is it's advantage compared to a normal chain ?

also, in my manul it says that you shouldn't lubricate the chain when riding in mud ? :?

and how about the mapping switch ? when i bought the bike they used this mapping switch as an argument to buy the bike, i thought i'd be able to instal 2 kind of mappings on it, one for enduro and one for MX

but now it seems i only can choose between fullpower of half-power :? i asked my dealer for mor info but that was all he could tell me

about these powerparts, i was thinking of buying a carbon pipe-cover, to protect it from stones and scratches, but in the catalog it seems like KTM is written on this pipeguard, is this just an example or will every pipeguard have ktm on it ?

Grtz

the ktm pipe guards tend to burn through as do several other makes,

i'm running a pro-carbon racing pipe guard which mounts slightly away from the pipe, 10mm or so, to prevent burning.

o-ring chains have lubricant within the rollers from the factory, the o'rings are there to keep the lubricant in and crap out.

Not sure about why not to lube in mud, i dont lube in sand as the sand can stick to the lube and act like grinding place, perhaps its the same thing.

i've got the mapping switch but haven't used it yet as the 300 is so smooth i havent felt the need too.

but no it isnt a case you can install too completely different maps. its either standard mapping or 'traction' setting.

have you tried winding out the povervale adjuster and or fitting the aggressive power valve spring, sure this will liven it up enough for MX.

two cents.........

If you use a chain wax on your O ring chain it will dry to a non sticky finish and should not attract/hold sand or mud.

I always lube my chain when I come back from a ride when the chain is warm. The O ring chains are sealed as Cypher mentions on the pins, however there are the rollers that are exposed. So, by lubing the chain when it is hot/warm, the cooler lube will get sucked into the area under the rollers to provide lubrication. This also makes a water proof coating on the chain and keeps it from rusting.
