In about 10 minutes I'm leaving work to go home and pack my bags for the trip to Italy. Plane leaves in six hours with me and my fantastic GF on board.
Short itinerary... Tomorrow will feature a visit to the Ferrari museum in Maranello, Friday day we will be looking at Brescia and eating great food. Friday evening we go to pick up the rest of the pack. Sat + Sun are race days. Monday we go to Venice and see what all the fuss is about.

This years Supermoto of nations is held in northern Italy at a track called Franciocorta between Bergamo and Brescia.
I'm going as part supporter and part Team Sweden official. It will be a blast.

The Swedish team consists of Jocke Engström (FS650), Ola Eifrem (RMZ450) and Christian Nilsson (YZF450). Jocke is one of the 'Berg backed riders here in Sweden and his bike is no way behind the world champ bikes. He won the open (unlimited) class this year. Ola should have won the 450 class but a rear flat and a blown engine earlier cost him the title, he is sooo fast. Christian only got a 6th (450) this year but has a year behind him filled with crashes and lot of bad luck. When things work out he is rrrreally fast. Last year we finished 6th, the goal this year is to improve that.

Will try yo get lots and lots of pictures to show you guys later next week.

One final Q, hope some of you have the A
Where are the yank team?? Chicken ??

From the Norwegian team there are TWO on Husabergs, that is the Swedish Champion in 450 (Yes you read right) and the second one in the Swedish Championship in 650. He should've won that but a wrong wet/slick decision made him loose it.

So I guess we cheer more on the Norwegians, right Jocke ;)

Have fun at the races. Sounds like it will be a great time. As far as the Yanks being chicken, maybe, but the more probable reason is that no one here has even heard of the event.

They wouldn't know what hit them specially since they're the ones who can't even compete on proper open class bikes in their championships
:D :D :D :D

Have a good one, it should be a blast.

All the best,
Simon

Ouch! No, actually Simon, since we have completely taken MX over from you Europeans and just finished demoralizing everyone at the MX of Nations, we thought we would go easy on you this year for the SM of Nations. :D

Right now our national series is still going thru some growing pains, so we still need to finish getting that sorted before we even consider sending a team for a Nations event.

There is actually an AMA National over here this weekend up in Oregon. And we do still run Open bikes (though it obviously isn't the premier class) and currently have a Husaberg sitting in a tie for 3rd in the series. The rider, Robert Loire is actually planning on heading over to Belgium next month to ride the Mettet (sp?) event.

Regards,
Colin Horn
