Hello I have problems with my Husaberg FE 450 2009. Description of problem:
When I push on the start button the start is very weak Its almost like the starter can‘t turn the engine and if I try again then Its a better start but it does not run only in perhaps every tenth time it starts very well and is completely seamless. All cables to and from the battery is good and not loose. I replaced the battery and it is all the same. Petrol pump is always running and the spark plug has no problem. This problem started in my last trip and it was like the battery was getting poor I ended with having to push to start.
Has anyone out there caught in the same problem. The bike is run 100 hours.
Sorry bad English

Have you got a multi meter to test the battery.. I suspect the battery you changed may be a little bit flat...
I would try and put jumper leads onto it from a car and see if that makes a difference..

Thank you for the answer

I have all ready tried a new batteri from a 2010 Husaberg that my friend owns and it was the same and I also have put a cable from my car and it started but not as good as it should have and if the problem is the batteri it should have been ok with the 2010 batteri, don't you think ?

If the decompressor is not activating properly, then there will be problems cranking. Certainly the case with other bikes, although I've no personal experience with the 09/10 yet.

did have the same problem on my 570 supermoto and in my case the decompressor was not ok. we did change the camshaft (guarantee) and now it also works with a high compressed piston.
but if the valve lash is to large the decompressor can't also work well.

Thanks for this tip mechanix Im going to move the camshaft from my friends bike. I‘ve already checked the decompressor because I thought it would maybe be that problem but saw nothing wrong, but know I think I will switch it from my friends bike and see if it helps.
Thank you very much for this.

it happend roundabout after 15 or 20hours, the decompressor didn't open the valve far enought and so the starter can't turn the motor around. i talked to the husaberg specialist peter forster he he give me the answer for the problem, cause i'd also thought that the battery, the starter or the connections doesn't work right.

You have a very good friend. That is very generous that he will let you swap parts like that. Pleas let us know if this fixes the problem.

mark,
the calmshaft and decompressor is working perfect for 10h now. also at cold conditions, hc piston and a lot of modifications the motor is starting well.
do you know peter?

Good news

My motorbike is in 100% condition after I replaced the camshaft with the decompressor as mechanix told me to do.
so now I have 570 decompressor and camshaft in my 450 Husaberg in some time hehe

Mark) yes á have Mark :D

Thank you for your godd advice and thanks for a great website Husaberg.org.

I have the same problem now on my 570 09,i have new battery so i thinking this is my problem.is this a warranty issue?

similar problem my 570 2009 will not start / turn over only when hot .when cold /warm starts first time . just started at 60 hrs ,battery ok valves in tollerance . any info help welcome thanks

I rode a pretty intense race last weekend, lots and lots of restarts, gas boiling like crazy, ambient temps in the low 90's, lot's of clutch slipping getting over and through massive rock gardens, fan was screaming for hours, even boiled over a tiny bit. And I had one episode like shown in the photo bucket vid.

I put the bike in neutral and just kept punching the button and after about 3 tries it fired right up and never had another problem.

So, just thinking out loud, I would say if you have that problem, put it in gear and bump the motor to a different place, and then give it a try?

My bike, and 09 570, has done this on one or two other occasions, but, after a couple of stabs it fires up.

I to just watched the video
Now I understand what your concern is.
My 570 does this a few time in a hundred mile ride, has done this sense it was new, I have over 6000 miles on my 2010, not a big deal!!
This is O-K not a problem don't let it bug you just ride
When the engine stops the valve springs some times will roll the engine back were the exhaust valve compression release system will not relieve the cranking compression. The starter is trying to spin the crank from a stop against full compression, the starter is working hard. You can check this with a amp meter, you will flow about 180 to 200 amps when cranking against full compression. When compression is relieved normal cranking amps is 90 to 110 amps
Do as Dale said just poke the start button a few time to get it off the compression stroke and it will start fine. Won’t hurt a thing.
Just like when you try to kick start an older big four stroke, you have to roll the piston past the compression stroke then give the antique kick starter :bounce3: a heavy boot. I’ve been thrown off the seat a few times with the old shovel head Harleys. Now I’m showing my age.
DON”T just hold the start button down the high amp load could cause problems, some EFI systems go full rich if voltage drops below 9 or 9.5 volts while cranking, this will foul the plug. Spark voltage is also down with low cranking voltage causing the plug to foul easier. Voltage will drop with high amp load.
Have a great ride
