SOS Start problem Husaberg FE450 2009

I rode a pretty intense race last weekend, lots and lots of restarts, gas boiling like crazy, ambient temps in the low 90's, lot's of clutch slipping getting over and through massive rock gardens, fan was screaming for hours, even boiled over a tiny bit. And I had one episode like shown in the photo bucket vid.

I put the bike in neutral and just kept punching the button and after about 3 tries it fired right up and never had another problem.

So, just thinking out loud, I would say if you have that problem, put it in gear and bump the motor to a different place, and then give it a try?

My bike, and 09 570, has done this on one or two other occasions, but, after a couple of stabs it fires up.

my 570 does this every ride now when hot done the bump thing not worked been in touch with dealer (drysdale in scotland ) will post more when get a reply

I have a 2010 Husaberg FE 450 that starts fine when cold but during a ride it occasionally stalls or won't start with the electric start. It turns over fine and sounds like it should start but it never catches. It will start if pop started but sometimes it takes a massive hill to get it going. The previous post mention trying to change the position of the piston but the long hills required to pop start counters this for my problem.

What I've tried:
- The valves were checked by the dealer and in "perfect shape."
- Battery was tested and is cranking out full juice.
- Filter, oil, gas are all good.
- The local husaberg dealer didn't really have any other ideas on what it might be aside from just about everything from the handlebars to the chain. They did say it's a "known problem" but I can't seem to find a "known solution."

Any ides thoughts or suggestions on what this might be? Thanks for the help!

I have the same issues with my 2009 FE 570.

Spoke to KTM SA, they are going to fix the problem.

Below is the response they gave me on e mail..

Firstly the torque limiter needs to be checked to make sure it is not faulty, if that is ok then the auto deco height on the exhaust cam need to be checked, if it is to low(<0.70mm) it will cause this problem, on the latest cam’s this has been increased to (0.75mm – 0.95mm) this makes the bike start easier, we will replace the cam if required F.O.C.
