Hi Everyone,

New to the site and would like to thank everyone for the wealth of knowledge that I have gained while trolling.

My question is about the readings I have gotten when testing my stator (AMAL/SEM)...

BLK - Red reading of 1.756 Ohms

BLK - Gr reading of 23.6 Ohms

This is obviously well out of spec for the BLK - Red resistance, but so far out that I question what the heck is going on.

if you have the flywheel covering the stator, with the stator bolted to the crankcase wall, with a plastic cover with NO bung hole at 11 0 clock.....you have the Mk1 stator and that reading is correct.

1,750 red to black
23 green to black

Thanks for your reply Taffy.

I have exactly what you describe (flywheel over stator, Stator bolted to the case, plastic cover no hole)...

but the red to black reading is 0001.756 (no comma... wasn't a typo)

it is supposed to be 1,756.000 right???

feeling really stupid right now and hoping that if it is toasted you still stock a replacement.

Oh dear, a decimal point out hey...but that as you say - is toast!

yes, I have a Mk1 stator sat here ready to go.

americans tend to whack up the value of the item they are sending. then i have her majesty's customs and excise ask me for $60 import duty. and then I tell YOU to pay me!!!!

your stator is toast, it is worth exactly nothing. don't give it a value. 'for repair' is what you write on the package.

if you would like to deal with me, my address and mobile are on the web site. if you want it cheaper then always use a card or bank transfer. ebay is the wrong place to buy anything when you are from outisde the EU. you pay our 20% VAT.

not clever!

regards

Taffy
