Hi guys, my rocker shaft seized to the rocker due to the crankcase oil strainer clogging up with clutch material and lack of oil to the head. I need to figure out a way to "extract" the shaft. Throw any ideas you have a me. It's soaking in penetrating oil atm and I have tried using a slide hammer with a thread on the end with no success. Cheers!

If it's stuck then both items are toast

If you can't remove it from the rocker cover get out the angle grinder

Ya, if a slide hammer would not bust it loose, they are probably welded together - likely will have to cut out the rocker and remove and replace both the rocker and the shaft. Probably no saving anything.

Try some heat on the rocker with a narrow gas flame. As has been said above, both parts will probably be scrap.

so you are saying that you put a reverse puller on the end cap and that it is the end cap that won't move? mmmm? not good.

if it were me I would put the rocker cover in the vice upside down and have one guy using an allen key as a lever against the other end of the shaft whilst the other used the reverse puller. even if it rips the thread out I'd drill and re-tap out to M6 and have another go.

I sell shafts and bushes.
