i have an 04 fe 650e with 120 hours or 8000 klms , and no major dramas. it is expertly maintained , i am curious to know if anybody else has the same blessing.

hello fella and welcome to UHE. hope you get out of it what you want mate.

could you give us a name and whereabouts you're from? maybe even put it in your name profile etc.

i'm not a 650 owner but incase you get to feel lonesome you can say you had at least one reply.

the 650's from '04 on have proved to be very reliable. dave clark racing-the UK importer is said to have stripped each and every one and converted the bottom end back to the ball-race mains that the '03s ran.

certainly this is the only fault that i've heard of-mains. but it came down to the cases being machined spot on and if you've got a good 'un then don't do a thing!

just holla if you need anything. there are plenty of 650 runners here!

sorry. should have said "converted back to ball race from roller mains". done it now. have a look in everyones gallery's on your left for neat ideas and also we have a huge log of every change made to the 400 and it knocks on to the bigger models. things like handguards and even updating your suspension etc. it's all in the doc. again click on it left of this screen.

we have no advice on keeping cool in the middle of the australian summer. a tube of castlemaine i believe is the answer for this. the bike? phuq the bike!

the secret is to get up early , run a camelbak and go for it. stop now and again to let the iceberg have a rest.
