Hi there. I just purchased a z-start pro for my husaberg an wanted to see what settings folks are using / what's ideal. I know much of it is personal preference, but would love to hear some advice before installing. I ride a fair amount of desert, but also do a fair amount of singletrack where the 550 is a bit intense (thus, the rekluse). Thanks.

I dont have the "pro" model, but if you go into my gallery you can see the spring setup I am using. I ride mostly singletrack with some high speed sand wash and 2 track thrown in for good measure.
The setup worked for an 04 650 and is now in an 06 496.
I like total disengagement at around 1900-2000, just above idle.

when i put the z-start in my '04, it took me the better part of a week to get it where i was satisfied. i've got it set up fairly tight to give me engine braking on downhills. only problem with it set tight, is it will not disengage when first starting with cold oil, but its ok because the clutch lever is still attached.
you're just going to have to try it and see what you like best. just make sure you test it for slippage under load where it should be locked up.

On my 550, I run soft engagement rate, medium rpm. I tried them all, on a 450 and my 550, that's what works for me. good luck!!

Thanks - all helpful information. I believe the kit only came with 15 of the Tungston balls (out of 27 spaces). Do you think I need more? The guy at Rekluse seem to thing that I wouldn't need more unless I was running the 650 beast. I am happy to order more if you think I need them, but the guy at Rekluse seem to think that it would be adequate (although he didn't share any specifics in terms of how to space them / use them).

I installed the Rekluse pro in my 2008 FE550. I used the recomended set-up that came with the clutch and I was very happy with it. It works awesome in all the conditions I've put it in. I'd start there and see how you like it. Rekluse spends a lot of time testing so I'm sure they know as well as anyone what works best in each bike. Good luck!

Please make sure your bike will run clean/smooth at a nice low idle and this will stop the clutch from wanting to engage, as it doesn't know the difference from a fast idle or if you are applying throttle to go? this is the biggest problem we get asked/fixed when doing tech advice over the phone with Rekluse.
Liked Timepolaris mentions they are truely unreal when out in the forest!
Enjoy
Best Regards

Just a quick update / ride report. Ended up doing the standard settings (recommended) and had a nice ride today - with no stalling (for me, that's a first). Didn't take too long to get used to it. Was great on the hillls / tight stuff. All in all I am very pleased with the product. I got one for my KTM two stroke also...
