Yes
There great
Yes

Have them on all my bikes.

RE: Re: ReKluse Clutches

Do they make em to fit the 650's or is there too much torque?

RE: Re: ReKluse Clutches

yep they do.

though i haven't got a rekluse or REv-loc clutch it is something i take an interest in as i enjoyed the spin i had on taffys bike.

at one time it was felt that the REv-loc clutch was teh one to go for if you had the 650 as it handled the extra power and torque better then the rekluse.

now rekluse have imroved and i think they are probably about equal so its really down to price and which one you can get hold of.

RE: Re: ReKluse Clutches

For those who have installed and are using Rekluse z-Start Clutch what are the Wave spring/Flat washer settings that had worked best for woods riding?
Low stall speed just above idle looks to be about right, I have not riding mine after installing clutch in the woods just breaking the clutck in for rechecking gap is as far as I have gotten. To many pokers in the fire.

The Rekluse works AWESOME no matter what you put it in. I have one in a 2009 FE450 with the recomended spring and ball set up and it works perfect. Once you ride with a Rekluse you wont be able to live without it!

Hi Guy'S little question for you, I had been looking at a slipper clutch until i saw this thread about Rekluse clutches.
The question is if you where going through deep water with a Rekluse clutch how would you be able to rev the engine and slip the clutch to get through the water ?.
Hope I'm not being to thick.
mark.

just to start a slipper is a completly different animal to the semi-auto clutches that are rekluse or recloc.

whilst not having a auto clutch i would imagine you have two options;

1. keep the clutch lever on your bike ( you dont have to remove it and it overrides the auto clutch)

2. ride thru the stream a gear or two higher so the clutch slips.

The Rekluse Pro keeps the clutch. I was surprised how little I use it though.

The Rekluse is kind of like traction control. you will figure out what you need to do to get across whatever it is. It just goes.

I was really surprised how well it works. I was coming around a down hill corner about to go up a very slimy rooty hill, so I hit the corner very hard. I did not see a little tree that was on the inside of the corner, blending in with the trees on the outside of the corner. I hit it perfectly, just at the apex of the corner, full tilt. It pitched me into the bush over the bars. I started up the hill from a dead stop thinking it was going to suck. It just went up the hill, over the roots and through the mud. I looked back and it hardly spun at all but it went up faster than I could have done with a manual clutch.

Kinda long but you get the idea.

With the Rekluse Z Start Pro you still have the use of your clutch via the lever once the clutch is enggaed. When the bike is idleing the clutch is disengaged therefore the lever is disabled. Once the RPMs come up and the clutch engages you can use your clutch lever just like a normal clutch.

A slipper clutch is totally differant and serves a differant purpose.

Riding nasty ground with a Rekluse is absolutely one of the most fun things you can do....with your clothes on.

Slipper clutches are just for the tarmac boys Mark, supermoto and road racing. Not too many deep stream crossings for them.
The auto clutches ar ethe way forward for tricky off-road going.

Thanks guy's been very interesting learning about Rekluse clutches off you all. I had never heard of them until this top pick was brought up.
Not sure if i would rush out and buy one, but it would be nice to try one, One-day.
mark.

Mars , I use the rekluse and the LHbrake for woods raing. The 2" wave spring and the 2" washers are to set the engagement point. Ad a washer to raise the engagement point (higher rpm). I also use 5 tungsten balls to get a more firm clutch grip. If you use a LHbrake, you take out the throw out bearing and ad the 1.5 wave spring.

Thanks all for your interest and help, I will make notes of your info and give it a try soon.

Hi Taffy,
Know exactly what you mean, the LHRB used to do that with me on my 530, would get all round the course fine, then everytime i hit the same long straight 70-80 into a bend pull the lever and nothing. Just as well my trousers were nice and muddy!
Take the brake caliper body off swingarm and invert when bleeding and tap, sometimes a little airbubble in there and moves around or sometimes the plunger adjust on those ajp trials levers is iffy.
Strangebecause mine has been fine on the berg so must be down to the fluid.

Well I finally got my Rekluse Z start pro and love it. I just set it at the recommended setting and have rode the bike through sandy rivers, rocky hills, twisting tight trails, you name it and I cant say enough for them. It really makes life easier on the bike.

If you are thinking of getting one? Just do it. You wont regret it IMHO.

Cheers,
