ok here are some clues you hopeless cases....

to put a twist grip on?

to seal a piston for a compression check?

to de-coke a 2T pipe in the 70s (blocking one end)?

fluid to measure compression?

something unquanifiable to check wheel alignment?

lubriation for tyre changing tyres?

we used to make sidecover gaskets out of these (after 8am)?

you can mark the flywheel with this?

to measure the oil level in a fork leg this item can change the suction straw height!

The collunder (seive) works well for the small parts in the partswasher (pasta tastes funny if not cleaned before returning)

Ive been known to steal the vacumn cleaner outa the house to suck up things what shouldn't be where they were.
Glad wrap (cling film) to wrap up the nice clean components for storage whilst waiting for parts from overseas.
 
Nah! nah! nah! you use the vacuum cleaner as port of a gas flow rig when tuning! you actually need between 4 and 6 motors :D :D

I think all these guys have got all the correct tools in their correct places and have never had to muddle through....

talcum powder = fitting a tube
shampoo = fitting a tyre
vasoline = sealing the piston for a comp test
plastocine = for a valve to piston test
crayon = trueing a spoked wheel
brillo (wire wool pad) = cleaning engine parts
felt tip pen = marking parts
correction/tipp-ex pen = flywheel marking
string = wheel alignment
short scissors = making a gasket
kellogs corn flake packet = gasket paper
clothes peg = setting fork oil height
kerosene/white spirit = compression testing
protractor = valve timing
kettle = removing paper stickers
black shoe polish = tyre wall slick
pane of glass = facing covers etc
clothes pegs again = to hold the wet 'n dry paper on the pane of glass!

White candle (parafin wax) aiding screws / stiff nuts & bolts and general dry lube.

(All chippies will know this).
 
we used to put it on the slide on the rec but thats another story!
