has any one tried the quicksilver carb as an alternative to an fcr.dcr in england are selling them for £150.00 brand new could they be a cheap fix for carbing probs ?.i have been looking for a new carb but the cheapist fcr in 41mm i can find second hand is about £200 + jetting and cables wear as the quick silver comes with the correct jetting and the oe cable fitts? whats the thaughts out their.

do a search. if i recall correctly the quicksilver carb didn't get rave reviews.

plus if your after an fcr i've got a 39 sitting in my shed doing nothing

my 98 600 came to me with a 38mm quicksilver carb.I could never really get it jetted right and on high speed runs the bike would stall from what I think was starving for gas.On the plus side, easy adjustments and a good technical staff at eddlebrock.I ended up switching to a 40mm del and after fri my berg is complete.I even told my wife I have to buy another bike because I have nothing to do in the evenings anymore! She did NOT want to hear that!

ive never seen one on a bike
but i know when i bought mine the dealer was having problems starting it on e start and they got one to try and they couldnt get bike to start at all with it on

its fine now :D :D :D

the quicksilver was a late 90's "fix" for the woes encountered with the big 4 strokes of the era. rather than learn to make the oem carb work, people would buy these and then realize that when these didn't work exactly the way they wanted, that nobody could help them tune it.
