Hello fellow Husabergers. I just got done tearing my bike down to replace the head gasket. The head was warped so I used dykem dye and sanded ( or lapped) the head with a piece of granite and 400 grit. Just put it back together, fired it up and there is goo coming out of the right hand side of the intake at the pipe. Sounds like I did something wrong. Also is it okay to use a cam chain master link with a clip? I’m ready for the abuse. Thanks

no problem using a split link.

didn't understand the goo problem. where?

no it won't be a liner. the coolant would be in the sump.

The goo is coming out of the right pipe where it connects to the head. Never seen that before. To be honest, I tightened down the head with a new head gasket and ended up having to take the head off again and re install and tighten again with the same gasket. I was hoping that might be the case and nothing more. Hoping I just need a new gasket again.

The oil looked a little milky also but that’s why I tore it apart in the first place. Because my motor got really hot and warped the head.

the rocker cover tends to ooze oil out the front and down over the exhaust port and HG area, the exhaust port often gets the blame. look from the silicon beed down and if it is shiny (with oil) up there it is the rocker cover not the exhaust port.

we did have trouble with 100mm head gaskets. mine were plain and the factory ones have a blue beed of gel around the perimeter.

Definitely not the rocker cover. Boy I know what that is all about. It was oozing out right below where the pipe goes into the engine and was also spitting oil onto the frame. I guess I will take the pipe off and look at it better.
