I got my hands full with bikes right now. You guys go ahead and enjoy this new bike(570). I'll be checking you out. By the time I'm ready for one, maybe next year or after the bike will be even better and I'll be happy with what I get. I voted.

I'm curious as to how they insure that the crank bearings have adequate lubrication on start up (and running for that matter) being up at the top of the engine now. Maybe some sort of reed valve system?

For me...I'll take the last year of a production run over the first year of a completely new model. Don't forget that the factory bikes which preliminary testing are done on are treated to service the likes of which "Joe Blow's" bike never will be. There are also potential quality issues between making a handful of "hand made" prototypes and going into mass production.

If this new model does not have some "glitches" in it that need to be ironed out...that would be extremely surprising regardless of how good Husaberg is.

For some, the novelty and (perhaps) performance will outweigh the risks. Whatever floats your boat.

There was a post a while back titled "first 2009 test" or something like that. Go and check out the test, a lot of your concerns that you mention are answered there. The bikes that are being tested now are not prototypes, they are pre production bikes, many in use with instructions from the factory to do only the basic maintenance. Here's the link: http://www.husaberg.org/index.php?name= ... first+test

If the test doesn't come up ask kelsow he get you there.

Goldenboy, The service intervals on the new bike are pushed to the limits to see if
it can handle the likes of joe blow!Remember the water pump design is now 8 years
old & still has problems. However if you did not already place an order you will have
to wait for next year anyway!

All the US bound bikes are pre sold?

The cut away I saw sure looked like a dual oil pump Katoom RFS motor with the scavenging pump operating the same as before except that it now also scavenges the valve cover area as well. Unless rotating it around causes some unforseen problem, engine isn't totally unproven. Only thing scaring me away is the weak dollar and the price.
