The needle jet is under the main jet, the main jet has to be removed before you can get it out, and has the needle, that is attached to the slide, running through it.

The other needle which is part of the needle and seat is what the float attaches to and shuts off the fuel at the right level.

gotta still buy new needle at least, needle jet has been replaced like 1000km ago. Do you guys know if any bigger 4 or 2-cylinder bike uses the keihin fcr's ?

while your at it buy a new needle jet and see if yours maybe wore. Cheaper than an FCR!

.

seems like the guilty might have been the idle screw which was stuck and pushed the slead up too much. I still gotta fix the advance of the ignition and then see if the baby finally starts with the button. Could someone very simply explain me how to get the correct advance? I read something about the dead stop method but after reading the whole topic i got way too confused

RE: .

just connect the strobe, start the bike and rev it up, by using the advance or ****** button you get the line on the flywheel to match the static line on the stator. best to rev the bike slowly and watch it go to full advance and then draw the line on the flywheel back or forward onto the static line. look at the strobe and it tells you what the advance is.

it really is that easy.

the only proviso i'd make is that the line can flick all over the show at times. very frustrating!

need to get my advance done in a shop since i dont own one of those strobos. what kind of adjustments do you guys usually have with your bikes? how much is the mixture screw open? even tho i got a new needle and needle jet the bike is still runnin very unstabily and fires in the exhaust pipe basically no matter how i adjust it. it also did stall at one point after a full throttle acceleration and dropping the engine to idle with the clutch. what is the engine trying to tell me? i still need totry to get the adjustments right with the meter i bought.
