Hello all,
I changed the oil today before going out for a ride, the oil plug (magnet) was covered with something like mud, from what i could tell from my experience, this was mos2 grease (molybdenum disulfide (or in plain english moly )), is this a normal finding in a berg ? Do they run with moly-rich oils (strange thing for a bike, since these tend to cause clutch slippage) or maybe there's an old berg school trick of mixing two teaspoons of mos2 with the oil (right before serving it with cookies) ????????????????
Have you ever seen or heard anything like this before ????
Because i bought a used bike, i'm a bit suspicious.... If it was a jap bike, mos2 grease would mean that the engine was disassembled, and probably had some major surgery eg conrod/crank bearings replacement etc.. (usually because something nasty happened).......
Thanks for any info you might share
