Oil consumption - FS 650e 2006

Last time when i switched to the Kibblewhite valve spring kit i noticed that one of my valve guides were worn in the side (i have attached a picture). I spoke to my uncle (mechanic) and he told me that i should make it flat up top and put on a new valve stem seal, so i did. I used grease inside it and plugged it on. Could this have something to say?

I still think the oil consumption is biggest when i do wheelies, pretty weird. I just took off my fuel tank and noticed that my rubber cap that i've used to block off the rear vent was a bit wet on the outside.. Very weird, is it possible that the oil can go through a rubber cap, even though its completely tied down with a hose clamp? But how would it be these amounts... I have attached a picture, i have marked the rubber cap which is wet on the outside by oil..

This is the hose caps im using:

Max operating temp of the caps is 180 degrees celcius, dont know if this could be the reason..

Dont know if they arent good enough..

What do you think guys? I will try rerouting the breather to the top of the right side of the radiator, and riding some more without wheelies but good amount of rpms..

Thanks for helping me out!

I personally think the valve seat is not the issue or anything to do with it
even if you got a tiny bit oil coming out from the breather wouldn't explain filling up all the time

you got smoke on riding and fill up oil all the time

if its the breather (it would have show oil coming out and also no smoke) but the first picture you posted with the breather mod I would have blamed that 100% for oil consumption

eliminating the breather there is some oil going into your head to explain smoke and filling up
rings...head gasket...reed valve also ...could cause this issue
for what they cost if you start looking into it head gasket valve stem seal and reed valve
are ''easy''.... then rings

---
to be fair 200ml if it wasn't for that breather the second best is rings
---
that's my 2 cent
I hope you get it fix

Do you have a breather tube from valve cover into air box?? I have seen allot of bikes vent oil from "PCV tube" into air box and suck the oil out through the intake. Does the breather tube go to the air box?

Just some thoughts as this is the most common problem. Saw a Yamaha 185 exciter leak oil back in the day when up in the air, but it was easy to see the oil come out of the crankcase.

I would also look into Bushie's advise with the oil ring or a seating issue. If your burning it, then it is getting into the combustion chamber some how :)
Head gasket mostly will burn coolant and not oil as coolant is under big pressure.

I have left my 450 factory and oil half way on the window all is ok but if I go above that she can suck oil into the intake and start blowing smoke.

I ended up having a stick flick up under the frame going down a steep hill and tossing me off the other side of a cliff about at 150 degrees the bike wheels were still on the track thank God but just about up side down, so by the time I crawled up to the bike and managed to get it up right she had swallowed a lot of oil, I had to use the decompression to get it started rolling down the hill, but she blew smoke like hell for 30km or so.

There has to be a better way to stop oil entering the intake and breath.
I have had a lot of Jap bikes go arse up without that problem, I think they have a small hole about 2mm that must have a ball inside it, that blocks off the oil draining into the intake. I will look into how to do that.

If you look at The Honda XL, XR 1980's they have little crankcase breather separator, it's a little round plastic thing, that could be made to fit some how as the original setup is just a backwards 3ed rate crap setup.

I think that the timing chain must be tossing up too much oil to the front side breather hose if the oil level is to high and this ends up splashing up past the stupid gauze into the intake.
Maybe a better finer gauze material could be used to stop that, something like you see in cars carby air filters fitted on the side for the blowby breather.

I have seen them long dicky hoses setups and they look totally stupid crap.

He's not running the crank Vent into the air box rozey

Christian as nobody really knows what the problem is my advice is to replace everything that might be causing a problem.

Check the bore is nicely cross hatched if not get it honed measured and put new rings in with a new piston if the size of the new honing requires one.

As You are getting New oversize valves and will need to cut the seats anyway you should also get new valve guides and stem seals

Replace the seal on the drive side of the crankshaft

Obviously Make sure there are no sneaky oil leaks

Maybe something else I missed if someone points out anything else do that as well

If your bike still does the same thing after all that just take spare oil and ride it.
