Ohlins rear shock on a 2007 FS

Hello Berg family , another odd question out off curiosity.

Would an Ohlins Ttx 44 t44pr1c1q1 or T44PR1C1W (from 2007 and up excs)
Ohlins part number ttx kt 994.(sxf 450)
With a length of 410.5 mm and a stroke of 109mm
fit in the place of the stock WP unit? With what mods?
Is it even possible?

its all about the reservior, the piggy back can. it has to be where it is on the WP. what are the chances?

Pretty big I would say because the kt 994 shock was meant to replace the wp 5018 dcc pds on sxf bikes.

I was more skeptical about the ends where it bolts to the bike upper and lower. Can they be the same? Or moded?
I also have the Sm version of the WP shock so I would imagine shock length would be substantially different.

What's the total length of our wp 5018 dcc pds husaberg for a 2007 650 FE and FS?

the enduro is 400mm long and the SM is 390. huusabergs have eyes, it will be a lot more expensive if the Ohlins is 'fork'.

although both are 4860, they vary certain parts of the body. the piggy back must be at 4 o' clock.

Is that a 4 clock?
What do you mean fork and eyes?
Are you referring to the frame and swinging arm joint?
because as far as I remember the swinging arm joint in our bikes is similar to the upper round with a hole .

So it would need a helm joint or a hole new bottom mount for the ohlins

So stock FS 390mm
Fe 400
This one 410mm
That's 20 mil difference .

Assuming that it fits
Is there a way to bring it down to stock geometry? Spacers?

It needs a massive 10mm washer inside....or a new shaft.
yes it has a fork at one end and you have to buy a completely new bottom end and fit it.
it has to be right to 1mm as there is no spare space. so 4 o' clock or not you might not even klnow it until you have changed the fork for an eye and you're in too deep already!

Ok Taffy , thanks for helping me out , i saw another thread from bushmecanic that has fitted one of these ttx 44 but that was a fe650 , so with the 10mm difference ,a paddle tire and a helm joint at the bottom.

So at least I know it fits on a FE.

For the FS,

Spacers are not uncommon , almost every shock lowering kit has them . But I would imagine the change of the Shaft is the more appropriate way.

How much will set are you back an Ohlins round shock bottom with the hole for the csc adjuster? Any leads where I could find one?

I get that is a massive risk but , the asking price is considerably down from what you can find with a quick search, that's why I was tempted.

Are you going to buy the shock new? if so just go to ohlins and they can make a custom one like mine using the shock from ktm but it will be 5mm or something longer (can't remember)

that caused the bike to wobble at high speed

so i have some bushing to go inside similar to this but they were custom made from stainless stell
