Newbie to tuning for 05 fe550

Hi all,have just got my first berg and loving it. Been reading all the posts I can and believe that I should be changing the setup of my carb as it has idle overun when warm and feels a bit sluggish. Settings are as follows
main air jet - 200
slow air jet - 100
needle - DVR Clip 5
main jet - 182
slow jet - 88
starter jet - 85
fuel screw - out 1 turn
mostly ride between 1000m - 2000m

the slow jet will be a 38 or a 48 but it won't be an 88! so please read again. the MJ wants to be 170 tops and some would have it on 162-160. the needle might go to c6 or c7 then.

Thanks for the reply Taffy, it is a 38 (thhose numbers are so small made me think i need glasses). What's the difference between a 158/160/162 MJ and is it worth getting a DMS needle.

ausberg550, dont forget to drop your details, i.e. bike, year, location etc into your signature sometime.

the difference in the MJs is that one of the three suits your bike and the other two don't!

the needle, i wouldn't change that till i'd tested the current needle. essentially the DMS is only a small improvement and if you draw the right conclusions from your DVR it will tell you whether to go for a DMS or something else.
