Newbie looking at a 97 FE501

I will hopefully have time to get back on the bike project next week. I am planning on looking it over with the tank off etc. and then gathering intel on the parts that it needs.

As an aside I was just looking at the newest Dirk Bike magazine and the 97-ish 501 Husabergs have the same HP (+/-) a smidge as the brand new bikes. Seemed like the span on new 450's was from 52-57 HP. As I recall that is what these bikes put out.

At least until I start having issues, I think the bike will do the job I need it to.

Hope to get on the Jetting issue next weekend.

I found one plugged jet etc. fixed that. Changed the rear tire. Am working on a starting ritual as time allows. I have it inside and every couple of days I practice starting it and it is getting easier. I am certainly big enough for the job. Just used to traditional right hand kick bikes etc. Pretty excited to ride, it is just a little deep on snow for the time being.

Will report back when I can actually ride it.

Oh... and just an FYI, but the header pipe bolts that connect the exhaust headpipes to the cylinder are in the Home Depot bolt section. I just picked some up last week.

Hope that helps someone.

I am feeling optimistic. Just gotta see the snow go..
