I an not in NZ now Cheeseberger but you will love it there.Dont miss the NZ superbike series starting next month
the street races in Wanganui on Boxing day are great
keep tabs on what is going on at www.mnz.co.nz

Colbster, So you made it down there eh ? Staying south for the winter ? I hear that there is some really good surf there, please give me an update on that when you check it out. Ever since seeing the movie "The World's Fastest Indian" I have wanted to go to Invercargil(sp?) NZ to see the southern most city in the world and the home of Burt Munro subject of said movie. Good luck and enjoy, it's snowing here as I write this, looks like it will be a good ski/board season. Global warming ? what warming ?

If you do get to Invercargill ,on the main street there is a hardware store called" Hammer hardware" inside is Berts record breaker bikes and a selection of vintage machines...great way to spend an hour or two.

Hi Guys,

Some great riding and sights in NZ. 100kms in any direction provides wildly varying terrain and roads. State Highway 73 from Christchurch to Hokitika would be one of the best rides in the world. If you are still here in Feb, check out the BEARS Sound of Thunder meeting at Ruapuna in Christchurch. A whole weekend devoted to racing non Japanese m/cycles. Cheers, Stu

Mito,
If you are lucky enough to reside in CHCH you have so many great rides at your doorstep.Just the loop around summit rd,Govenors bay, through Lyttleton HBR to Sumner is a world class ride.
I think that the ride on the north Island from
Taupo to New Plymouth on the "Lost World Hwy"" is also spectatular
...this is making me nuts I gotta go check my air miles account :D

I dont have a phone at the moment. Contact me through the site or e-mail [email protected]. Met a guy with a 950 ADVENTURER yesterday.

Ron, I'm here in RAGLAN right now, the most famous surf spot in the country. Surfed thick, windy, but peeling 8-10 footers yesterday. Have surfed lots of areas already.
I hope you guys are AWESOME.

Thanks for the update Cheese, Please keep the travelogue going. We always enjoy the adventures of Colby, kind of like " Where's Waldo" but with bikes and surf boards, and thick doesn't matter much when it's 8 - 10'

I am one of the people Taffy mentioned. To date I have been reluctant to say I have a berg. I have a box of bits that used to be one, (05 450 FE) and should be again soon I hope! Working on it! Mainly just the engine that needs assembling now, as I have sent Taffy a bunch of cash. I am seriously impressed with the tech in the engine cases.

Hope you are enjoying Raglan. I am about 20 - 25 minutes away on the road to Hamilton. Let me know if you need any info about local stuff. Some pretty good riding out there. Both up and down the coast.

You from CO? I like your place if so, and was there about 12 months ago. Want to go back again and like the look of Moab. Different than what I am used to here, as you well know by the looks.

As I said, let me know if I can be of any help.

RE: Re: RE: New Zealand

rogerhnz,
Not to answer here for Colby, but yes he is sort of from Colorado (he gets around ALOT) He lived in the Crested Butte area a good while. we have a good little Berg group going here in Durango, Moab is about 3 hours away. Drop a PM before your next trip and maybe we can work in some riding.
Adios

If I make a drill directly to the center of the earth and don't stop .... I may be at your side.

Spain
Lat: 38 Long: -4

New Zeeland
Lat: -38 Long: - 4 + 180 = 176

Just the other side of the earth.

We are far away but united by a Berg :D :D :D

Hello All

I actually have been up in INDONESIA hanging with the muslims, very nice people I might add. I rented a Yamaha scooter, 110cc's of raw automatic power, complete with 13" mag wheels. I put probably 550 km's cruising mainly on the island of LOMBOK looking for surf. Indonesia is quite cheap, as my scooter rental was 5$ US/day. Also I got a flat and it was fixed for 1.06$US, or yeah, and this included picking it up at my hotel and dropping it off.

Now I am finally back in New Zealand again. Not sure if I will seek out riding or not, as I have no gear here. I am heading to the South Island probably in the next week. I will check out the Store with the World's Fastest Indian. I hope everyone is AWESOME.

Yeah bro. Im a closet berger down under. scored me a new 04 650 in 05 (new old stock) which ive been useing on the dirt and road for 145hrs an 10500ks. Now the fun begins..... sump plug looked like a porky pine when i pulled it out last week..... I think the hardening is falling off sumwhere. Im about to meet Taffy in a dark ally with a large chekbook soon once I have identified the issues. Innywayz..... Im up in the sunny Bay Of Island where we are lucky to have a large selection of twisty sealed and unsealed roads which link together some wicked 2-300km loops of arfternoon entertainment. Glad there are other peeps in EN Zed that appreciate fine engineering. A world of information is available through this site....... Ab Fab babys. Keep up the good work.

Yo Taffy bro. Down here in EnZed, bergs are distributed by the local KTM dealers (if they can be bothered) tripplexmoto in auckland are ok. Bort my bike new from Husaberg New Zealand which is (was) run by Nigel Bevan. Very helpful bloke with some experiance with the brand. (bort my bike from a horse farm hmmmm!). Can be difficult to get a good parts supply down here. My nephew in Aus sent to the states for his parts coz he reckons the Aussies were too dear. I have only bought consumable so far but as big yella has finnally decided it wants some attention (its turn to screw me instaed of vica versa) i am about to start casting around for some prices. whats a new piston/ bore set cost over your ways? (04 650). $400+ for a gasket set. $100 for a cam chain (and its a shiny one) I could go on all night but i dont think my boss employed me for this (well he probly doesnt think so anyway) will check in later (after ive made a clutch tool). C U Dazjay.

Sorry bro..... mis read your ? Why would people in Husaberg be trying to sell new zeland? (or is your Queens english differenter to our Queens english?)
