new job with sherco

just thought i'd let you know that i went for an interview today and have a new job ready to start!

sherco's are being imported by a company that does trail riding tours. they have north and south wales as well as the peak district and somewhere in the south west. they also have two trail tours in spain: an easy and a difficult one.

so they decided to become the sherco importer and will use all shercos on all their trail tours. buy a sherco and they'll refund the trail tour costs. they will not have a dealer network for their off-road bikes due to financially being unviable so sherco 5.1i, 4.5i and 2.5i will only be available from st. albans.

my duties will be to prepare all the machines, take some of the tours, prepare a racer or two, sell them, and visit shows etc. i will also be snet to southern france (nantes i believe) for a course on the F.i. systems etc.

the interview consisted of me turning up in my roughs and getting a brand new '06 to start and run! turned out the actual injector nozzle is US.

bar the mileage i think it's good for me. we have a few ideas on how to get around it, like me bringing a few steeds home for a few days!

so that's it really! i like the variety and i hope to have lots of work to do as i need the spondoolies at present.

hey thanks boys! it's the old story, when you're down, you made all the wrong moves in life and now i have this job and everything i ever did was to get me this job!

it's a thin line!

as long as i ride a husey i'll have an input here. but like i said at TT when i sold my yamaha WR400 for the husey: "now i've sold it i'll be leaving...". i have no intention of selling a bike that i have developed for 6 years. it will sit next to the Harris F2 pantah on the coffee table one day.

shoot, lose lineaweaver and me all in 6 months? can't happen!

so yeh i'll be here.

regards

Taffy

congrats Taffy. I really like the Sherco I ahve ridden. As a matter of fact, I am really excited about the 2.5i coming out.

Congrats Taffy, but won't you be P'd if instead of Nantes your plane lands in Shanghai and you get bussed to the Xispa factory 8O

sounds a good job.
hope it goes well.
saw that the enduro side of things had changed importers, trailworld isn't it?

yep it's them fraser. i think i've heard of three famous trials riders in the last year or so that 'can't be arsed!'. at this time i'm going to be vague (not only that but it's probably a brit thing as well here ....) but rathmells can't be arsed with sherco enduro machines, then there's the beta importer who's anothert trials rider of old who can't be arsed with beta and beta are suffering. finally the Uk WP importer - kevin harris got the job coz someone (trials) else from lincolnshire couldn't be arsed!

up to them i suppose....

Congratulations on your new job!!!

Oh, and for my own personal enjoyment, where are Shercos made, Taffy?

Does this mean if you host the next world UHE meet, we will have to ride Shercos? Do we get tour discounts if we come the UK?

Congrats Taff

I really think you will do fine at this job. It is after all your passion.
Dont be a stranger bud....... I may still one day get a passport and fly over to bum some floor space and gin :D
