Need a CDI, will pay shipping.

Hey everyone, I recently bought a 2000 fe501, and it has no spark. I've so far narrowed it down to the CDI and as I don't want to spend $200 on a new one for it to not be the problem I was wondering if anyone had a spare laying around that I could borrow. I would gladly pay for shipping. Any of the following CDI's will work as well:
1999-2000 Husaberg FE400

1999-2003 Husaberg FE400e

1999-2000 Husaberg FE500

1999-2000 Husaberg FE500e

2001-2003 Husaberg FC501e

Please email me at [email protected] or obviously just reply to this post if you have anything. Thanks

Hi

You can't test the CDI, but we usually do it like this, test everything else, if there isn't any more problems it must be the CDI

The best I can do is to test yours

The second best I can do is to repair yours

Thanks for replying. Do have a bike that's CDI would be compatible with mine? If so would you be willing to have me send you my CDI to see if it works or not, or visa versa? I'm almost positive it is the CDI, I just really want to make sure.

Thanks

Alexander, what makes you think it's the cdi at fault, have you ruled out the stator being the problem.

Regards

sparks.

I used a multimeter and the stator is consistent with power. I appreciate you asking though.

Thanks

i think i'm the only one that stocks these used and also repaired ones ready to go. why not send it to me and I can check it on a running bike. if it has failed and I repair it there is no charge for the check - just the cost of the repair.

When you say constant with power, I'm not too sure what you mean!!.

What were your resistance readings or were you just obtaining some sort of voltage from the stator.

Regards

Steve.

Sorry for the confusion, I was getting readings of .7 ohms consistently with a connector coming directly from the stator.

Hi

So no more confusions, with a multimeter measure the following resistances (Ohms)

RED / BLACK - 3000 Ohms (+/- 10%)

GREEN / BLACK - 165 Ohms (+/- 10%)

This will tell you if your stator is good or bad.
