hey bro sry for ur loss. I got a 93 fc600 they tried to steel it last yr. I use a super loud siren hooked up to the doors and windows....scares the hell out of them and u but works good.. anyway hope u get your ride back.

yep!

I got it back today

:bounce3: :bounce3:

it is sans headlight asembly, rad scoops and louvres and the seat.

they hadn't ridden it a yard IMHO as some ***** put thinners in instead of petrol.

so we drained the thinners, 2 pints of fresh fuel, put fuel in and started it up. first time :D :D :D

I now intend racing Saturday 5-weeks to the day it got stolen.

Mid-west have found me some used plastics and a seat - well done lads! 8) 8)

it's covered all over in silver finger print dust. but it'll buff up a beaut!

I'm about to walk the dog but in the morning I'll give you all the juice on it.

I was keeping quiet till I had it in my hands and the po-leese had done their duties which is now OK? sorry if it sounds like I held back but you never know who is reading.......

anyway, when it started it up, I danced a jig and my neighbour was looking! LOL!!!!

it's just bloody great to have it back! and....thank god for numpties, I have seent he bad side but this was one occasion when it played into my hands.

Oh and one thing I can say is a HUGE THANKS to Gear4 at Market Deeping who upon hearing the bike was stolen registered it on the KTM info log and then who got the call for some parts? only Gear4! and it flagged up, they called me, I called the police, bike back in police care in under 2-hours....

more tomorrow.

regards

Taffy

Wow, that's fantastic news! Thank goodness for the thieves that are mouth breathers or else something like this wouldn't happen nearly as often.

a week ago today on the Friday I got a call from Gear4 saying that a dealer had just called up for parts and the frame number quoted had flagged up the bike as stolen.

the owner before me was Rodney McHarg the mechanic at HillTop in Northern Ireland and so he got the call about it and then I got the next call.

I let the police in Cambridgeshire know, they told Norfolk and they called the mechanic with instructions NOT to let the bike go and not to contact the customer.

Norfolk police arrived, secured the bike and within 2 hours it was at a compound and I was told that the bike 'is now secured'.

anyway, they announced it available for release on Wednesday and I had to pay £150 for the release of my baby. I loaded it up and as said: noticed that the side stand, headlight, seat, scoops and louvres were missing.

so I popped around to the mechanics in nearby Thetford and he answered the door. alas no plastics and the bike was as delivered to him. he says that a lad bought the bike for good dollar as an insurance cleared ex-theft. He says he's the big loser here?

the disappointing thing at the moment is that the Police don't appear to want to even interview the lad that took the bike in to be repaired? WTF??????

so I got the bike home and what with the sun and the heat, i undid the cap and the smell of thinner really hit me!

last night I dropped the old fuel and put a couple of pints of petrol in and she started first time!

the target is to work late into the night tonight and be ready to leave to race tomorrow. I'm doing a TBEC at Ashdown Farm, near Wantage.

regards

Taffy

Great news you have got your bike back.

Real shame that the Police are not following up to try and catch the thieves. It's a real piss boiler when they seem to have plenty of time to measure bike number plates etc. and make sure they are not a mm too small. Unreal if they don't even ask him where he bought it from. Any mileage in you asking the chap.

Good luck in the race at the weekend.

I'd advise being pushy - maybe join up with the previous owner, the garage that found the bike, and the mechanic that it was sold to - show up and PUSH the police to do something about the issue.

It might not work ... but I have a suspicion that it might.

Too bad. I hoped it was gone for good. Being ridden by a nice fella. I hope you eat dirt on it.

Whoa fella,

If you have nothing positive to say, say nothing at all.

Me? I'm new on this forum and this is the most negative post I have read.

Go away!

Thanks

Derek

i agree. not a bit of positive info at all. i deleted the first one and will delete them all if they are like that. keep the unneccessary poison off the site.

Bloody lowlife. If the UK is anything like Canada now the cops don't even bother investigating. You must be very frustrated.

What are they going to do with it? It is one thing to fence a Honda CR, a 'berg isn't that common.

...after reading subsequent pages I learned you got it back. Fantastic.

As I said, it's one thing to fence a Honda CR....

Ya well read some of his posts. He is an arrogant ***. Couldn't have happened to a "nicer" guy. Don't worry,I won't post about this again. Thank "taffy" for driving another user away from this site. I'm not the first.
