my 650 race bike

I bored my carb to 43mm Think really only makes a difference at full throttle.
With one of those rear shocks that Chris#64 has I would be looking at making an air box that wraps around each side of it
and having two air filters behind the shock.

Is that even possible? For the "straight-on carb" you'll have to cut things off the frame. To get 2 filter on each side of the shock the frame would be even more in you way!?

I have a diffret solution to the inlet on my new frame with a standard filter + an extra "KN"-filter above the rear schock. It seams that the straight on filter gave a little more aur to the engine though. But maybe it runs better now, don't know. To hard to feel with 4 month between the testrides.

A mate of mine modified and braced the headstock on his 650 so he had a flat K&N filtered air inlet on the front of the bike. He ran a vented front number board so that air could get in to it. RAM air for moto's!! :D

That was the standard solution on the Factory-works sumo frames in 06-07. I have some pictures someplace of a ex 07 frame. They say it worked good.

of course it's a real shame that nobody has tested the two back to back and reported it here isn't it!

(tum-te-tum!!)

Here's the first pic of me on this site. Indoor supermoto! Very small and narrow track, just run it on 1st and 2nd gear. Still fun and better practise than none at all :p
