foned dealer,,said that 10w/50 is being replaced by 10w/60 and ktm/berg run better on 10w/60 he even said he spoke to motorex rep & assured this is the case....ummmm not so sure,,,what u rekon???

i reckon motorex had a bunch of 10/60 they hadda get rid of...

take it it will still be ok to use,,,even tho iv got & been using 10/50

Sounds like a bad case of B.S to me !
10/40 is what most people use, moterex did deal with ktm 2005 and recommend 10/50 after years of testing on the SOHC.
Suddenly 10/60 is the best , why? I bet it costs more as well.
I would ring back for a proper answer, what you paying for those small bottles. £10-12 a litre? From £7-00 18 months ago.
If the10/60 is so damn good, tell them to stick the 10/50 and youll buy the 4litre containers at a discount while you test it out for them.

there well know dealer on the net,,dnt want to say who it is,,, but they sale 4x4ltr for £37 which aint bad......

I noticed the 10/60 is a few dollars more per liter as well. Can you say "additional dealer profit" I can......

it was the same price as 10/50 i rekon he just put them in by misstake & gave me cover up story.....but i spose it will fine to use

Motorex is all marketing...they paid $$$ for the right to have KTM pimp their product, and it shows. "Special" oil weights, dire warnings in the manual not to use anything else, etc. Whatever.

I don't mind spending a premium for the best products, but my opinion when it comes to Motorex is that you are spending a premium for the best marketing. LOTS of other good oils, lubes, etc out there that are equal or better than Motorex for less money.

Disclaimer:
Buy what makes you happy. Let's don't start another oil thread--I can't bear it. My comments had to do with marketing only.

i reckon go with it, their oils are pretty good and 10 60 is an even higher spec than the 10/50. i would always worry more about the first number than the last number anyway.

No, thats not a bad price mate especially if you got the 10/60.
The 10/50 lists at £40 for 4liter round here, i can usually get a couple of quid off.

Did you get the power synt4 or the cross power?

Just to confuse things a bit more, my ktm manual said power synt 4 , but they recommend cross power for the new Bergs.

Whats the difference? Anyone know?
