Maybe Husaberg and Australia dont play well.

Got to put my two bobs worth in here.
Ozrider you hit the nail on the head, a number of dealers are more interested in selling you bling or add on parts rather than providing you with good service and advice. It doesn't take you long when talking to ORANGEBERG to work out that he is a rider, a technician and a dealer all in one. He has the experience in all areas to be able to make those "gut instinct" calls and be correct in diagnosis and provide the right advice. It's an age old formula, you just cant beat experience combined with knowledge. And he actually cares about his service and customers !! Sure he has the bling and add on parts if that's what you want, but he has to make a living as well. Husaberg Australia need to make sure they don't loose people like ORANGEBERG. It's very hard to put a value on or replace experience and knowledge like that.
Cheers
Garry

Ye, I went into a dealer up here on the coast the other day that USED to sell Bergs, anyway, before I got off the footpath I was met by a young bloke maybe 18 yrs old,
"How you going Mate, looking for a new bike are you" was his opening line. I am thinkin WTF, give me a chance to get to the door, but I thought ok, I will humour the young bloke and told him I was there chasing some parts, "Ah cant help ya there youll havta go down tha back to parts ,what are you riding at the moment ?"
So I told him, he knew what the Husky was (they sell them), Knew the name KTM, had no Idea what a 640 Adventure was, and as for the Husaberg "never heard of them (his words)" and there was a 550 in the yard ffs.
So I ask him what he rode "dont have a bike at the moment wouldnt mind one, the last bike I had was a Honda XR 75". So to finish off I asked him what he did there "New and used Sales Mate heres my card can I interest you in a test ride on the new Aprillia over there?"
I turned around without another word walked back to the car and drove off, never even made off the footpath.

What is going on with people these days, I mean we all got to start somewhere but this **** just dont do it for me.

So when do you get it Wal ??? 8) Have you told everyone what you are up to

Yes Wal I think it's time you came clean !!!!!
I had a very interesting phone call last night from a gentleman interested in buying a FE550 second hand !!!! And did I know what condition the said bike would be in, considering I had a hand in fitting the rebuilt engine to it !!!!

I rode this last weekend all was fine wheelstands on all corners woo hoo..

Tell ya what, the secret service aint got nothing on UHE members...I'm selling my beloved '06 FE550e & have it on ebay. I happened to mention on the advert that I had it rebuilt at Orangebergs shop. As my luck would have it the bloke interested in it is in Orange. He asked if I remembered cafey, I told him I ought to & blah blah blah ( all good ). Hope you gave the old girl a glowing report Cafey  Might be a commision fee coming your way if he buys it.

Dont worry though, I'm following the boys toys golden rule....

DONT EVER SELL YOUR HUSABERG UNLESS IT'S TO UPGRADE TO A BETTER HUSABERG

I've got an '07 550 on the way so will post the photo's when it arrives. Flames make it go faster, honest..

Yep it was all good Wal, from what I could remember, I told the truth, the whole truth and lots of Husaberg truth. I told him all about the motor and that it went well and all that stuff. It's got to be a great second hand buy with a fresh engine.
You can shout me a Wild Turkey next time we catch up if it sells mate.
You didn't go for the 650 Wal?
Cheers :D
Garry.

Husaberg fairies

With the anomalies that seem to be going on with your bike Faktor, the only legitimate excuse I can see is the fairies are taking at for a blat when you're not looking

I havent purchased new Cafey, so had to take what was on offer. I think I prefer the faster reving 550 anyway as it suits my riding style, not that I have too much of that. No worries for the wild turkey too...

Gazza posted a link to bike sales in Australia for the 1st Quarter of 2007
http://www.mcnews.com.au/NewsArchives/2007/sales_jan-apr/brands_overal.htm

After looking at this I have a few a thoughts.
Husaberg has very limited sales when compared to the top 6. Although the top 6 have roadbikes as well to increase sales.
Yamaha 9105
Honda 8910
Suzuki 4518
Kawasaki 3174
HD 2144
KTM 1628

Husaberg 93

After looking at the data i am wondering how Husaberg can sell 93 bikes and still have a majority of failures in there bike engines. Alot of Berg owners I have talked to have had something done to there bike under warranty and some have even had dealers replace mains and big ends before warranty runs out just in case it could go wrong (450/550). I get to see a few as we travel around going on organised rides etc. Is it a design floor they are refusing to address.

How long will it take them to sort out the issues with this old engine.....or will they not fix them and just go to a new engine with another set of new problems?

I'm not sure where you get your facts from "majority of failures" but I know that there are a lot of Bergs running around here in the states with no major issues to deal with. I understand you had a problem and that it was not taken care of, however, before you start stating how the majority of Bergs in Australia are failures start getting some facts first. As "best new husaberg dealer in 2006" we've sold quite a few of the amazing dirt bikes, and frankly the only warranty issues we've had due to the bikes were a small seal update. Otherwise, the engine problems we've seen was because a rider ran the bike out of water (put a hole in a radiator hose) but still ran at race speeds for 8 hours straight...also, the other motor rebuild was on a 02 550 where the rider only rode the bike in sand dunes and never, ever, ever changed the oil filter...

Around here, Husabergs have held up pretty good when compared to other manufacturers...I've seen and worked on alot of other manufacturer's bikes with the same if not more issues than I've seen on a Berg (we have a couple of CRF pistons, DRZ pistons, KTM Gears, Kawasaki Valves, Yamaha Clutch baskets, etc, to prove it) and OH YAH, NOT COVERED BY ANY WARRANTY.

Look, things happen...just remember, the world doesn't revolve around your bike...while you may have had some issues with the bike and support, I have many many more people riding, racing and loving the Husabergs...try 1st place Open Am and 2nd Place Open Am in the Oregon Cross Country Series, we have trail riders, dual-sporters and Supermoto guys that have thousands of miles on their bikes without rebuilds (knocking on wood right now), Our age of riders range from 17 to 60 with all speeds and abilities (some even brand new to dirt bikes), and I haven't had a single "I dont like my bike", in fact, I've had more people say that they are AMAZED every time they ride the bike and that the bike just feels better and better. What I can say is if you would have had a failure here, there are a numbers of dealers up and down the west coast that would have made sure you were happy (although, some people can never be pleased). Dirt Bikes are only as good as the companies that back them....our distributor has been great so far...I dont know your dealer network or your distributor, but before you bash Husaberg as a whole for all to see, ask around, check your facts.

I agree, I am one of those riders that everytime I go riding I love more my bike, not a single problem, with almost 65 hrs and more than 1600 km, rear wheel change 2 oil changes with filter, same spark plug And I love my bike.

Cheers

Peugeot sold 39 "motorcycles"? 39 Aussies lost it.
