After looking at this I have a few a thoughts.
Husaberg has very limited sales when compared to the top 6. Although the top 6 have roadbikes as well to increase sales.
Yamaha 9105
Honda 8910
Suzuki 4518
Kawasaki 3174
HD 2144
KTM 1628

Husaberg 93

After looking at the data i am wondering how Husaberg can sell 93 bikes and still have a majority of failures in there bike engines. Alot of Berg owners I have talked to have had something done to there bike under warranty and some have even had dealers replace mains and big ends before warranty runs out just in case it could go wrong (450/550). I get to see a few as we travel around going on organised rides etc. Is it a design floor they are refusing to address.

How long will it take them to sort out the issues with this old engine.....or will they not fix them and just go to a new engine with another set of new problems?

jeez faktor- I think you might cop some flak over this one............

are they shipping all the friday afternoon bikes to oz or what?
seems that there is a disproportionate amount of problems reported from oz compared with everywhere else

Just some thinkin' music,

I think Bergs have been lucky over the last 5 yrs, only KTM, Yam and maybe Husky got through the majority of the 4stroke 'valve recesion' recession unscathed, when all of the hi performance four bangers were chewing up valves and seats and spitting bits and pieces through crank cases and heads.

lots of the head / valve wear issues were put down to contaminated fuel and poor filter maintainence (micro dust entering combustion chamber?) elsewhere on this site, there has been a post about ***** getting into the FCR carb, and also about breathers (crank breather) maybe its time to filter all of the overflows and breathers - you do ride in the desert.

And allways kiss your hussey goodnight, that keeps them faithfull. I do.

Azza.

I'm not sure where you get your facts from "majority of failures" but I know that there are a lot of Bergs running around here in the states with no major issues to deal with. I understand you had a problem and that it was not taken care of, however, before you start stating how the majority of Bergs in Australia are failures start getting some facts first. As "best new husaberg dealer in 2006" we've sold quite a few of the amazing dirt bikes, and frankly the only warranty issues we've had due to the bikes were a small seal update. Otherwise, the engine problems we've seen was because a rider ran the bike out of water (put a hole in a radiator hose) but still ran at race speeds for 8 hours straight...also, the other motor rebuild was on a 02 550 where the rider only rode the bike in sand dunes and never, ever, ever changed the oil filter...

Around here, Husabergs have held up pretty good when compared to other manufacturers...I've seen and worked on alot of other manufacturer's bikes with the same if not more issues than I've seen on a Berg (we have a couple of CRF pistons, DRZ pistons, KTM Gears, Kawasaki Valves, Yamaha Clutch baskets, etc, to prove it) and OH YAH, NOT COVERED BY ANY WARRANTY.

Look, things happen...just remember, the world doesn't revolve around your bike...while you may have had some issues with the bike and support, I have many many more people riding, racing and loving the Husabergs...try 1st place Open Am and 2nd Place Open Am in the Oregon Cross Country Series, we have trail riders, dual-sporters and Supermoto guys that have thousands of miles on their bikes without rebuilds (knocking on wood right now), Our age of riders range from 17 to 60 with all speeds and abilities (some even brand new to dirt bikes), and I haven't had a single "I dont like my bike", in fact, I've had more people say that they are AMAZED every time they ride the bike and that the bike just feels better and better. What I can say is if you would have had a failure here, there are a numbers of dealers up and down the west coast that would have made sure you were happy (although, some people can never be pleased). Dirt Bikes are only as good as the companies that back them....our distributor has been great so far...I dont know your dealer network or your distributor, but before you bash Husaberg as a whole for all to see, ask around, check your facts.

RE: Re: Maybe Husaberg and Australia dont play well.

Do a search on the forum and you will find all the facts you need about Husaberg and Australia.
I have no doubt they arent great bikes otherwise why would i have bought 2 of them. I can and will state the truth about the bike when i can. In Australia we have many failures on these bikes compared to other brands. Your right the world doesnt revolve around my bike but it does somehow gravitate toward my wallet since i purchased my 05 650 husaberg. I got 5000kms out of my Berg and then i had problems i had only gotten 11 months riding out of it. To me 10000kms is acceptable on a $12550 Dirt bike not 5000kms (3000 miles). I can be pleased and have been very patient with my 02 husaberg and now my 05.

you see the problem we have here is that FAKTOR is not the only one .

let me tell you about my counter balancer failure , which turned into a drama within itself .
where i almost received a journey over the bars .

what about the main bearing failures , ask ORANGEBERG he has all the parts to prove it .read the thread on main bearing problems ,

you can't blame FAKTOR for speaking up , he, like me and others have spent a fortune on our bikes .

the factory should address these issues of weep hole , main bearing , valve spring failures . and not leave it up to us to pay for their slackness .

we love the husaberg power , handling , sound , looks and light weight . but the benefits of this fantastic bike have cost some people big .

Faktor

I understand your frustration because when your riding with "non-berg" riders all the time and your bikes has issues; you cop alot of sh!! about the brand. Especially when its in the shop constantly being rebuilt.

In some ways I've been lucky with my 01 FE400E. I chewed out a cam which was my fault and am currently getting Sparks to rewind the stator. Apart from those two items its been 11000km of single trail, hill climbing trouble free riding. The bike is running like a new one.

Cheers Carl

I know you have been lucky hamberger but as you saw when you came riding with me here in the sunset it is definately different to your riding.

RE: Re: Maybe Husaberg and Australia dont play well.

well the dealer doesnt know what the noise is and wants to split the engine..
