Hi there,

I was lucky enough to test ride a 2006 fe650 and now i'm really torn. I presently own a 2006 Suzuki DR650. Yes i know it's low in power and high in weight compared to the Husaberg.

So here is my delema, i will continue to put some where between 40,000-60,000km on which ever bike i own every season. Is there any chance a Husaberg will endure this kind of treatment & if so how much do you think it will cost me in Engine re&re's. I have come to terms with the costs of sprockets, chains, tires, oil changes etc.. I just need to have some sort of idea as to what the additional costs will be.

As for my riding style, 70% road 30% dirt. Road is 50/50 touring and twisties. Dirt is 60/40 fire roads and single track. To date i don't race.

Thanks
Graeme

Sounds to me like you need both bikes. Keep the DR for the more road orientated work and use the FE for the more off road orientated work.

Thanks for the input guys, as i feared it will have to stay on my wish list for now. I just can't justify 2 bikes.

50 Mm per year on a dirt bike???? I would have thought even a big XR, TT or DR would be worn out after a year or two of that, even after several stripdowns. The 'berg will likely need oil changes every couple of days and several rebuilds, including big ends, in the first few months.

Cripes, if you can average 50 km/h that is 1000 hours per year or 1/5 of your total waking hours on the bike? My butt hurts thinking about it!
