Lights have died - any suggestions?

Hi Guys

Ive got an FE400 E. Was out riding last weekend, lights were working when I set off - but it was a very wet day. I started the bike yesterday and now the lights don't work and I'm not sure what it could be... I'm hoping... that its crappy contacts that need cleaning up perhaps, but I'm not sure - bulbs seem fine - could the actual switch have died or the regulator?

Going to strip it down today and hopefully fix it.. if it's not something thats dead that is...

OK guys - in my limited knowledge I can tell you the following...

There is power going to the regulator....
There is also power going to the light switch from the regulator - via the red wire
THere is power going from the light switch via the yellow wire which I believe is the main beam
However there doen't seem to be power from the light switch via the white wire which I believe is low beam..

Does it sound like a dodgy switch? Do you need white to have power for the headlamp to work, or would full beam work just off yellow?

Other thing thats confusing me - my wiring diag says power for the rear light (also not working) is violet - I must be blind but I cant see a violet wire....

Any thoughts? Sorry if I sound like a numpty - but I am with most things electrical!!

OK latest update...

I checked the wiring against my mates berg - he has a violet wire for the rear light where as mine is blue - so thats cleared up now....

When I checked the power on his bike - if you switched to main beam - there was power to the white wire and violet (rear light) wire - as you would expect. Switch it to full beam, power ceased on the white wire and went to the yellow instead - again as you would expect.

On my bike - there is no power to the white (main beam) or blue (rear light), however there is power to the yellow wire (full beam) BUT this power is on CONSTANTLY, not just when you change the switch. As you would expect, there is power on the red wire from the regulator.

I'm thinking the switch is screwed but I'm not 100% certain - as if there is power to the full beam wire I would have expected the headlight to light up (bulb is OK - tested it..)

Only thing I can think to try next is a replacement light switch....
