KTM Power

But was it noticeable? I can understand the throttle response might have changed, but once going in a certain gear, can this be felt?

Probably not.
As I mentioned before the increase in peak power was simply a bonus.

Kind Regards,

Is it not correct that a Dyno run can show power dips that need carburation\timing sorted, but since the curve is obtained at WFO, throttle response is somewhat a seat of the pants evaluation since one rarely operate at WFO on typical trails? :?

Hi Dan,

The dynamometer is simply a tool. I have both load control and moment of inertia capabilities. The moment of inertia aspect allows me to closely emulate real world (ie dynamic / transient) conditions. Unfortunately the improvement in "rideability" cannot be depicted using a graph and must be experienced in order to be appreciated. I primarily rely upon thirty years experience and exhaust stream analysis for less than heavy throttle tuning.

I Hope this has answered you r question. if not, I shall be happy to take another run @ it. :)

Best Regards,
Dale

Hi Dale,

I just thought I would touch base with you regarding my KTM and how she runs now. What a nice difference!!! The JD kit I had installed before made the bike run better than stock, but still had its issues. But now since you have worked your magic on it, it carburates perfect.
Don't get me wrong the JD kit did make it run better, but with your set up is runs GREAT.
No longer are there multiple pops on decel and jerky throttle response. Now its just nice smooth power with beautiful on and off throttle response.
The bike no longer feels like it is overly rich, and loading up all the time.
She starts up easier and uses less gas. Its hard to explain, but the bike now feels like it wants to rev more. I cant't explain it, but I like it!
Now as to all those folks who swear the carb needs the accel pump. You are on glue. It runs better with the accel pump disconnected!!
I have yet to take it to the dirt to test it there, but I will report with that next weekend.

Thanks again!
Paul

Nope don't need any more explanations. On another note, what does it cost to have a crank rebalanced to run without a balancer?
