hi everybody,i would like your experienced help for this one.
a friend of mine has a ktm 250 sx 04 which recently refused to shift gears when rpm are above midrange. if rpm are down you can shift up and down with no problems at all regardless if you use clutch or not or anything.
aventually and after no mechanic could find this out, he rebuilded the whole gearbox totally.
after this it is still has the same problem 8O 8O 8O
rpm should be under about 5000 to shift gears....

the obvious and most scientific answer to this problem that i applied to my friend is -of course- to buy a husaberg, but we would apreciate any help on this anyway...
thanks in advance

That could be the case, hard to shift over 5000 RPM's while gears are under load. On my 2001 ex-KTM 250SX I polished the shifter drum and claws to a mirror finish for smooth shifting under full throttle load. For racing conditions you hold the throttle fully open and apply up pressure to the shifter. Once the horse-power and RPM's curve drop the shift to the next gear will move. Release shifter to reset and apply up pressure to shift to the next gear. Husaberg gearbox is a bit more stiff to do this procedure. But remember, it is when the maximum power curve drops off at full throttle, is when the shift will take place.
