It can be fiddly, and a problem when in a hurry. Do it with the bike on its side, it is easier. Stay calm and look at how it works. The 1998 workshop manual should do, or an old husqvarna manual:
Install the spring with the bent part of the spring gripping into the slot of the crankcase and the straight part of the spring facing outwards from the crankcase half.
Intall the kickstart shaft into the spring and into the machined hole of the crankcase half as shown. Turn the kickstart shaft (with the help of the kickstart lever, clockwise and by pushing the shaft towards the crakcase half, intil the engagement key hooks up on the engagement sledge (half moon steel thing). Install the other bits and clutch.
Now be careful what you do when putting the case back on. The engagement key can slip out and you only know this when the kickstart will not move at all. After what I have said about the spring and key etc. Instal the clutch and cover very carefully as until the cover is screwed donw that key and move and lock. Once you have done it once it is easy. Once you put it all back together and find the key has slipped as said, you will not want to do that again. Even shop mechanics have stuffed that last careful bit up. If you stuff it up too often and in hope force the keystart you can damage that half moon steel engagement sledge thing and you may have trouble getting a new one. I have wrecked them in the past. Use good light ie day, and don't drink till you have finished the job.
