Just received my Rekluse

I just received a Rekluse for my 501 as part of a trade and it was a good deal for both parties.

Now I just opened the box and it looks like a nice Chinese puzzle, which is fine. I got the instruction sheet, it seems to be step-by-step.

Any suggestions before I embark on this endeavor?

Thanks a bunch!!!

And yes, I will take photos and put them in my gallery.

Glad to see you finally got one. Just follow the instructions and set it on the reccomended settings. It should work just fine.

How many of the plates from my clutch should I reuse?

I need to get it right time if possible, as it is such a pain to open the side on the 2001.

Thanks for the help!

All but the top steel one from memory. I just took a Rekluse out of my old 2003 Fe400e to sell it.
The instructions are really easy to follow. You will by OK.

It depends on how good of condition your friction disk are in. If they are in good condition go with the reccomended settings. You may want to get a couple of extra water pump seals.

Given that I also ride bicycles, I thought I'd mix it up.

As for the friction disks, let's say they are nicely worn but not overly. Not new but plenty of life left.

slipper

Would be very interested in hearing what you think of the slipper clutch as I have been thinking about buying one for ages now.

slipper clutch and auto clutch are 2 different things. the rekluse is an auto clutch.

scully your diggin a hole. a slipper clutch isnt slang. it does refer to a specific type of clutch generally seen on sports bikes but now being used by some supermoto riders basically it allows the clutch to slip slightly under certain circ's such as down shifts to prevent the rear wheel from locking.

RE: Re: slipper

Cypher: isn't that what the Force Part anti-hooping clutch supposed to do?

Also I wonder about clutch devices that act mostly as anti-stalling devices. I have seen a couple motocrossers fall and the engine would keep running but not the rear wheel.

Exactly, and/or keeping the rear wheel from hopping......

slipper, auto, rekluse?????

For f**k* sake, what has happened to this place??? I know what type of clutch I am talking about and I'm pretty sure you lot do too! This place is suppose to help others rather than ridicule, well thats what I try to do. Whats next picking up on spelling misssssstttaaacccceeeessss.

RE: slipper, auto, rekluse?????

Hey Froggy... is the Rekluse the standard or Pro model? I'd pass on installing the standard unit on a 501. It just doesn't stand up to the torque well enough, and you'll find it impossible to adjust properly and wears too fast.

was looking the other day an it doesn't look like they do the pro model for bergs.

come on froggy get it going and give us your impressions

It is indeed the standard, os the pro is not available on the 2001 model.

I have heard of people using it just fine.

I am also not a competitive rider, I therefore do not use the torque that often.

By wearing too fast what do you mean? The carbon plates wearing fast? How many hours do you mean?
