Jammed preload adjuster

Hi all
so I wound the fork preload adjuster in just until it stopped. Now it's stuck and when I try to turn it back it also undoes the cap.
Any suggestions ? Can I just unscrew the cap whilst still on the bike?

yes you can, and may need to take it apart if it is really stuck

searching ktmtalk will yield better results

I would first try tightening the top clamp or use a spanner to hold the fork cap still and use a bit of impact to loosen the prelaod adjuster

I removed it and tried all sorts of things and it will not budge ? Might have t get a replacement top cover and valve now !

when you wind it all the way "in" the 2 threads can get messed up, they may be cross threaded now

I would carefully take the other one apart to get an idea of what the problem is

Yeah it's stuck real hard, where can I get a replacement cap assembly ?

you could ask terry hay if he has a used one google "shock treatment" + sydney

otherwise try used ebay parts or new from the usa via shipito
