Hi
I'm new to this forum and just want to introduce myself. I got 2 ktm 250 -88-89 and have recently bought a Husa 501 -01 in bits. So as you can see I'm sucker for old bikes with not the best reputation. The -88 runs well after full engine rebuild, the -89 needs a better cylinder, cracked above exhust port. And now to my current problem : i've just started reassembling the 501. After sourcing a conrod for it and had it fitted. It is only 60 mm width not the 62.5 workshop manual says ! I was planning to run it with ballbearings and single balance bearing. What should I do ?
I'm bit lost at the moment

That's an interesting project and an interesting conundrum too. Best of luck! - Subscribed!

maybe make a spacer if required

you can run the balls with up to about 1mm axial play of the crank

bearings may require some honing to a slip fit on the crank so you can measure axial play
