Idle problems

hey hey i was out riding my FS650e 04` two minutes ago and from one second to the other it stoped idling it just dies when i let go of the throttle it spins fine put it cant idle anyone tryed the same...?

is this a left over 2003 bike with the old SEM ignition and dell orto?



the stator could be on the blink!

yep...broken valve spring checked it today but no other damage ordered two new springs today and Taffy it is a 2004 model the 10th letter in the framenumber says 4 thanks for the help guys...

Hi there,

I would seriously recommend you replace all 4 valve springs. Likely the ones in your bike are all from the same manufacturing lot.

why not go straight to the kibblewhite/ktm450 dual springs?

well they run 35/30. if he was prepared to waist the back of the valves and narrow the seats to aid performance i would think he would get the weight the same.

if he nees the weights of the 37/30 he needs only look in weeds/popups gallery or i'll have a look.

okay i just got the impression that it was only the exhaust valves that was a problem on them but maybe i should replace them all
