I just got back from the dealer meeting where we had the chance to ride the 2009 Berg's. What an awesome bike! Hit me up if you want some info.

what about the 450 tranny in the open? is it kinda wide and gappy? did you find your self opening up the throttle more with each upshift to get the bike in the sweet spot again gearing wise? My experience with the 06 Fe450e in wide open trails like deserts was that it tended to be gappy. WHile my 06 Fe550 has the power to fill in the tranny gaps and does not give me this sensation.

Have you riden a previous model FE450 and know what i am talking about?

RE: Re: I rode the 2009 Husabergs!

I did not notice the "gappiness" in the 450. It seemed to pull hard all the way through every gear. I have only ridden a 2008 450FE so I am not familiar with the 2006. The biggest thing I noticed about the 450 is how nimble and light it felt. You would never know it was a 450 but the power was there. It didnt seem to have gobbs of low end torque right of the bottom like the 570 did but it was not lacking power by any means. It was very managable and very smooth. We were at 4000 feet when we rode, so they were down a little on power even though they are fuel injected, but you would never know it. The 450 seems like the ultimate woods weapon. The 570 has gobbs & gobbs of torque yet still feels very nimble. Not real jumpy or wanting to rip you off the bike but just nice smooth steady power all the way through. Both of these bikes far exceeded my expectations. Not to mention they are sooo nice to look at. What an awesome looking bike. You can stare at it for hours and still not notice all the little details that make this bike worth the seemingly high price tag. When you look at what your getting compared to other bikes out there, its not overpriced at all. I am a new dealer in Troy, NY so I will be happy to answer any questions anyone has. My email is [email protected] if you wish to contact me directly.

RE: Re: I rode the 2009 Husabergs!

Thank you for the report. They sound like Husabergs! smooth electric LIGHT and Fast. Yes Very nice. GOOD JOB HUSABERG! and ktm factory! thanks all.

I also rode the new berg's at the dealer show. this is the best motorcycle ever!!!!!!!! the bike does everything you want it to. the 09 berg is 2 to 3 years ahead of it's time. this is a bold statement from a die hard berg guy.

RE: what about pictures!!

The FE 450 is $9498 & the FE 570 is $9998. The fuel tank holds about 2.25 gallons. Unfortunatly I didnt bring my camera or I would post some photos. Each dealer should have one in October.

expected in one or two weeks my local dealer makes a test day with the 450 and 570.

I´m no longer sure to do this test ride.

to know my "nearly new" 06 is a now a dinosaur can provocate a depression

I'm REALLY depressed! I had 3 dealers to choose from and the only one with no bikes is the one with my money! :(

hey Guys. new to the site, very cool place!
we just got the new "09 bergs in yesterday. we spent the better part of the morning putting them together. i couldnt wait, it was better than christmas!
i havent been this excited about a new bike in almost 20 years! after seeing and riding the new bikes at the dealershow this past summer, the anticipation of them arriving was killing me. anyway, onto the good part. i serviced one of them out and as soon as i hit the button she instantly came to life. and settled into a smooth purr.....
i let her warm up and took her for the first ride on our little test course. right away the smoothness of the engine blew me away. it pulled like a an electric freight train from idle and never put the front wheel down, even thru the full throttle upshifts. trannsmision is smooth, and precise.
here is the kicker: SHE WONT BOG!!! THE THROTTLE RESPONSE IS SPOT ON!
i currently ride a 450xcf and LOVE IT. i bleed orange, but after today, my new blood type is BLUE+!!
we got 4) 450's and the first one i bought!! man i cant begin to tell you how stoked i am over this bike.
i am putting the handhaurds on her and getting it ready to race the Mid_south this weekend.

New dealer for me!

I'm picking up a 2009 FE 450 from the dealer in the previous post tommorow!

cool report, I also have a 505 and 450 XCF, are you saying this new Berg handles better than the KTM,S ?????
I would jump on one of the new bergs in a hot second but am worried about handling, it must be as good if not better than my XCF's

i wouldnt slam the KTM's handling in any way, BUT>>> the Berg is designed for the tight woods of sweden, similar to what i ride here.
KTM's were designed on open grass track style of courses.
do i love riding my KTM in tight woods,--heck yeah.
are there way faster guys than me on KTM's in tight woods-heck yeah.

what i am saying is that i noticed the Berg steered and handled better in the twistys than any bike i have owned or ridden in the past.
that is my perspective on my new blue bike.
it is just so darn cool to have the choices we have right now. even better is both the KTM and Bergs come from the same great people, and the quality and engineering are top shelf, but we get two different theorys on chassis and engine design.
