I need a good retort for some local berg bashers

Ever since buying my berg a few months ago all ive seemed to do is defend the brand.
All the local "experts" are telling me ive bought an unreliable heap and that i should have gone jap or orange.
My replies are usually uninspiring dribble like "There extremely light weight" or "There good value for money" etc etc

Ive not been in this game long and now some close friends are buying there first dirtbikes, im trying to convince them not to overlook the husaberg, but they've been poisoned by the non believers.

Next time i get an ear bashing from these pussys, i want to be able to shoot em down with some good one liners

Any suggestions?

Tell them to look at the WEC results and Enduro results in Europe. The Bergs are doing the Dakar as well nowadays!!

How much more of a test do they need.

Hi there Philis,

You don't need to come back with anything. Your best response would be to just enjoy your bike. Riding it is the best way to promote the bike to your friends and riding by the 'tards with 12 year old information gives you the upper hand there as well. If possible, passing them really drives the point home.

I honestly wouldn't bother with arguing about it with people whose sole drive is to bring others down. It's like the Special Ed debate team. You may win the argument, but you'll still be a retard.

thanks,
json

Some good advice there schwim.
Its no big deal for me really that these retards like to trounce the little guy, its just annoying that there giving the husabergs a bad name.
That and the label ive got as the novice who didnt know what he was buying

Im trying to get 4 of my mates to buy bergs, it would be alot easier for all of us to repair/service/learn our bikes between us, rather than everyone having a different bike and having to struggle individually.

It doesnt matter to the blokes on the new hondas because they pay someone to fix it for them.

SpikeHamma, you from sheffield? just on my way to work there now!

All of us here know exactly what your going through, Husaberg went through some hard times, but those days are over. When dealing with these moments I prefer the actions speak louder than words approach. When out on the trail, let your buddies ride the bike, or better yet feed them some dirt off your back tire!

There isn't a manufacturer out there that has a corner on the reliability market, they all brake at one time or another, so when there jap crap breaks, make sure you rub it in real nice like! Then offer to tow them back to the truck, oh the shame of being towed off the trail by a Husaberg! Like putting salt on a wound, rub that in real nice as well.

Look at it this way, they are jealous or intimidated by your machine, use that to your advantage.

i know whwt you meen last year i was on a new ktm 450/rmz 450 both from 2007 this year when i arrive on my FS650e from 05 everybody looks at me as i got the plaig...

1) question their manhood at every opportunity.
2) call them lemmings
3) ask them what kind of harley they own
4) tell them if they don't play nice you won't let them use the towrope in your berg toolkit

#4 is an absolute....after you tow a few of your buddies home, the berg bashing will stop.

I prefer the Bendberg approach........... Let them eat some dirt :p
I was in a Qualifier type race a couple of years back and was right in the scrap with some much younger riders . Me being old and not racing much anymore had no business dicing with these guys but after being passed a few times,. pushed out of the corner, and then watching these guys overshoot corners on their 525's I decided to let the big dog run.... I got 2 of them in one corner going to the inside and then won the drag race ( ok I did wander around a bit to spread the rocks and dust) . At the next check as we are waiting for our minute to come one of the 525's ask "What the F kind of DRZ is that?" had to giggle a bit :D Not too long after I got old and tired and thats the last I saw of them but if you can ride the beast you can change minds. The Bergs make me a better rider than I really am.

If you don't roost em at least pull up along side them in fourth gear, give em a nod, and then wheelie on by. There is something about getting passed by a guy doing a wheelie that is just plain humiliating.

650 from shane in newcastle last month? just a guess.

"It doesnt matter to the blokes on the new hondas because they pay someone to fix it for them."

tell em we service our own machines (i didn't say repair!).
17+ world titles and they've only been going since '86.
now that they're made in austria the build quality is as good as a....a....KTM!!!!
you just like it, you really, really like it. you can't explain why, but you do!
ktm's and hondas go wrong all the time.
Husabergs are ready to go.

Roost them. That's all you'll ever need to do.
Let the bike do the talking.

what he said H-berg Oh yeah!! Killer bike, Plenty O power , Supa light , EZ to maintain.

BTW I got a 08 1098s w/26 miles on it mostly cause my 650 is just fun as hell to ride.

lots of berg haters out there, the most passionate and misinformed ones I've met sell jap bikes and need to borrow tools.

example; aparently my bike weighs 130kg and is about to blow up real soon like before its even got to 30 hours casue the nylon cage in my main bearings is too brittle. ? biting the toungue is hard to do but json has good advice on the arguments and retards.

difficult to understand the extreme negativity directed at bergs and their owners. I honestly really never thought it would be so intense. But if you got one it just shows you got more balls than the rest of em don't it?

being a retard I can't help it and mention the 2007 Aus safari finke etc how many pistons did they pump into winning honda to get it "safely" to the end even though they "didn't have to" ? how many pistons did all the bergs put togther use ? which brand had 100% finishing rate? what happened to the green bikes electrics? how many engines did the yamaha need? maybe not the best thing to mention but something about a KTM doing mains too? oh 12month warranty on jap bikes is there? 2008 condo 750 all bergs finished?

if they really won't listen the teraflex tyre does indeed do a mighty fine roost.

Funny, the borrowing tools remark. I went riding with the neighbor kid and his freind(10 yrs old) to show them my back yard 2 hr loop. Some retard(middle-aged man) on a KDX tagged along with my neighbor's freind. First thing he said was"you bought one of those piles of crap!?" Then he proceeded to eat rocks  15 miles into the loop he gets a flat(maybe husey kicked that nail up just for him!! :finger2: ) Get this, he had no tools, no tube or anything. Well the berg rider(me) saved the day and got the 'tard home, and I told him he could keep the tube. I'm kind to dumb animals

Ignore the nay sayers and tell your frinds who are looking for their next bike to ride yours for a bit and check out this site. Remind them that all high performance 4 strokes need maintenance on a regular basis and well maintained ones are generally reliable.

The bikes really do speak for them selves and there are a few here who will speak for 'em to !

My Buddy said Huasberg's are for those of us in a mid life chrisis who can't afford a Vett. I told him that Husaberg's are for those of us that have stopped pissing on the porch with the puppy's and are now running with the Grey Hounds. 8)

Why say anything at all. some just like to bash with no reasoning at all. I have a few bikes that are different from the rest, I say nothing at all to defend why I have them. Sooner or later everyone wants to ride it. Bergs are cool they just want to ride it and afraid to ask.

Once, while out at my favorite riding place a guy rode up on a 650 berg. It was the only one out there and the coolst one at that.

Bottom line is that some like to bash when they are unknowing. Hell, I was bashed on this forum because I was interested in bergs and had a few questions, see my first post.
