D&H is actually the ONLY dealer to sell bergs fro LA to the bay area... and he services a LARGE demographic area. ther actually is a lot of money in this area, many people from the bay are fled to the modesto area. but you are right, i ride in the hills of this area all up and down the central valley and have yet to see an other berg.

hey Brett, a while back you stated that Clawson motorsports in Fresno was going to be a dealer. what happened?

Please keep in mind that in a discussion like this, I must be as diplomatic as possible ;)
Dave (DH Cycles) is a great guy and he loves Husaberg, but no one else in the shop knows anything about the brand. I've tried to promote interest on the part of the sales staff (that's spelled: "Ben Franklin"), but I received a lukewarm response. DH Cycles is located in an ideal geographic area for our brand, but Husaberg sales success eludes them.

Regarding the shop in Fresno, I was there in May 2006 and they were hot to trot. However, their order never materialized. That happens, but we'll keep trying.

Cheers,

Brett

Well, Brett if you could help me convince my wife (spelled $Ben franklin$) that I really need to ride at least twice a week and once on the weekend, I could do more to support the brand here in the great Central valley!

Reading between the lines - Dealers would be doing it tough and the reluctance of dealers to discount older models before they order new ones makes me think they are frustrated by the way in which the bikes/brand is being supported by the parent company.

I would start at $4000.00 . Would rather move the dead wood than wait for it to become a collectors item if it were me .

Thanks for the support. My 03 FE400E is still kicking *** big time! And I'm digging the 400cc displacement. I've spent a lot of time, money and effort on getting my suspension right for me. I'll be riding the 03 for the time being. But if I was to make a deal for a 04 450 I'd start around $4500 US. And walk out the door at $5100 US. By the way my dealer only has one 06 450 on the show room floor.

PS: Maybe by the time I'm ready for a new bike. Husaberg will have brought back the FE400, Like KTM did with there 400EXC I can only hope?

i feel just the same way, what a shame that eventually you spend your money on dead development like replacing items that have their hours up.

but i love my little machine. i've raced it for 5 seasons and had my troubles but development continues. i think i'm on about 40-42 RWHP now and it's sweet!

why don't you consider the 380 and over time look for a 400 stroke crank? (from 57 to 60mm)

Taffy

I spent $5400 OTD in Feb. on my 04 FE450 from NMS in Sparks NV. They have 04 FS450 for $4995 still on the floor. Too bad there isn't the time or the track for it close by.

I also think my bike is great. Does the job and has been taylored to me over the past 3 seasons . It will be tough to start the process from scratch again. However in Feb. 04 I bought 1 03 FE400e and 1 02 FC 550 for the total of $9,000.00 shipped to my house . Left overs need to be discounted !

anybody no what the dealer cost is? or is that top secret information?

I could tell you, but of course, I'd have to kill you ;)

Again, in the most diplomatic manner possible - in my opinion, dealer cost is not relevant to a 2004 non-current (of any brand) sitting on the showroom floor. What's relevant is what the traffic will bear.

RE: Secret

Cost is irrelevant at this point. What will you pay is the $64000 question?

Thanks for the input Taffy with my abilities and the fact that I have almost no spare time anymore. I just want to go to the dealership and buy the bike. Tell them to re-spring the bike for my weight and set up the suspension!
One of the biggest burns for me, if I was to go to orange is now I have to re buy all the specialized tools for the rebuilds.
PS I'm not sure if you fellows across the pond celebrate Christmas, but have a happy holiday TO YOU ALL!

ha-ha

we enjoy it for longer than you lot do! we have a day called boxing day on the 26th which is also a national holiday. nothing to do with joe frazier just a fun day where there is a lot of sport. this means that there are only three working days next week which of course everyone will also take as annual leave (even if you don't want too you have too) and so we're talking about a national 10 day holiday every year.

regards

Taffy

Taffy, not all of us over here are mindless drones with our noses against the grinding stone. I work for a public university hospital. My last working day is the 12/22 then I'll have off till 1-2 all paid days off.

Some of us mindless drones have a busy season. I own an auto collision shop, and Thanksgiving through Memorial Day scheduling is extremly tight. People are impatient, they need their vehicles.
However 4th of July through Labor Day I will not work many days if any, paid.

Husabergfanatic, Please read and respond

Hello, Husaberg Fanatics, I have been reading this post and trying to make sense of it all, First of I know Dave, I bought my first 125 Suzuki from him in 1986 yes I know that shows my age, and since my racing time way back then Dave was always for the Underdog, Dave and his Dad and MOM used to really like the CAN Am's the big orange monsters..him and his dad used to let me sit on them, pretty much on a Daily basis, Dave would even help me get on them, they were huge.....and to this Day I still remember the smile i had on my face for them letting me do that.........

So when i finally had the money to buy a bike, This is a Story I still tell.....When i had enough money from my Paper route with the Modesto Bee, ( I lived there for 14 years ) yes I was an Honor Carrier, I asked my mom to cosign for me a new bike, Initially i wanted a Honda CR125, not a Suzuki, well we Me and My MOM went to honda I walked in and Sat on a sweet CR125 and the salesman told me to get off the bike, I explained to him I was there to buy one,,,he made a rude comment and told me again just get off the bike kid. I was dressed in Jeans and My OZZY OSBOURNE T SHIRT, and I had Very long Hair ( hey it was the time ) Perhaps that is what got me kicked of the Bike, then My mom suggested we leave, I was very dissapointed, but she told me there was another dealer close by, well Long story short I went to every dealer that day and they all treated me and my mom the same way, Disrespectful and rude, and I told each one of them I had 2,000 In cash to buy, they looked at me and laughed and said, yea sure you do kid, now go on and get out of here.....I was just about in tears.....I thought how could such a passion of mine get destroyed by ********....i was very down....I walked into DH Cycles on Mchenry BLVD, and sat on a Suzuki RM 250 Dave came over to me and was so nice and Helpfu, and said maybe you should try a 125, I was so confused i couldnt even think, so i sat on the 125, and I told him i want to buy this bike, he said you are going to love this bike, and if you ever need anything at all give me a call, even if you dont know how to work on it, ill help you out...........I was the happiest kid in the World that day, Dave helped me set up the Suspension for my weight gave me some pointers, set me up with some equipment and I was off, to this day I still think i hugged him for making me and MOM feel like people with a dirtbike passion............Thankyou again DAVE l

Ok well im all grown up know and I really want to help Husaberg in any way I can, I wear the Husaberg Beanie on my bald head almost Daily, and I get a lot of Questions regarding this Awesome Machine, I have spoken with Berry at Premier Motorsports in AZ, and my son rides at his track MotoGrande, this guy is a huge Husaberg Fanatic, he does sell KTM, but if you ask him what he prefers he will tell you Husaberg hands down......I am working on purchasing a New or used bike that is up in the air as I speak.

The other point to me writing this is because i really want to help husaberg I believe they are the best machine out there period.

I am a Freight broker for the last couple of years, and I would love to ship Husabergs, not for the money!!!! but I feel if i can save them money in thier shipping, perhaps they will put more money into Advertisement and Marketing, and really stand up to the other brands that are out there........Perhaps then they can break away from KTM all together, I mean hell KTM in all honesty has not done a ******* thing for HUSABERG, all they did was invest in them so they could rip Husabergs design off...of course that is my opinion and I am intitled to it. I could be wrong so please do not come down on me like a wall of Cement......I am also considering opening a Husaberg Dealership here in Maricopa AZ, yes my wife thinks im Nuts, but im still working on the Business Plan, I run my own business from my house now, and I do ok. So i do know the ins and out of running your own business, this would be only Husabergs, I will not sell other Brands of Bikes, why Because I do not believe in them...Point in Mind I do not or will not sell something if I dont believe in the Product, and Husaberg I do have a Passion for....I know this is only my 2nd post to you guys and Ladies out here, but I guess I had a lot to say so I welcome your responses,,,, have a Great day Terry Scott

[EDIT]just downsized the font Mr. Scott. It was a little hard to read for those of us with little monitors :)[/EDIT]

RE: Husabergfanatic, Please read and respond

Dave has always been helpful everytime i went into D&H. However when I went to buy, they still wanted an unreasonable price for a two year old machine and would not budge. unreasonable I guess is an understatement, because he still has/has them for over 980 DAYS! that should say something about what they are willing to do. You can't tell me that they just have not had any buyers, because they have.

when I was in there, I told him I would let people know that he had some bikes that he was willing to deal on (whatever that means) but the sales guy stated he won't sell them out of state. I don't know if that is personal thing or an issue with interstate commerce, taxes etc.

DH

Terry that story is touching :grouphug: and it's indicative of how Dave treats people today as well. He's a super guy.
I'd like to see him get paid for his Husaberg enthusiasm too, and the only way to do that is to sell bikes.

Thanks for your freight offer, we're getting a competitive rate from our carriers, but I'm sure our shipping people would take a look at whatever you have in mind.

Whenever you want to move forward with that dealership, let me know.

Cheers,

Brett Saunders

Unfortunately, almost all motorcycle shops aren't that bright. They look at making profit on every bike. They are too short sighted to know when to unload dead weight. They do not understand that they need to free up those inventor dollars and let those dollars start making money instead of sitting there collecting dust.

BMG is the North America importer of the 'berg. Even if you shipped their product for FREE, it wouldn't affect the KTM - Husaberg relationship. It also wouldn't convince jedi to increase his marketing. They are canadian and they don't understand the AMERICAN market.

The canadians that are controlling the marketing of the 'berg don't want any other dealers in Arizona. Again, they don't understand the American market.
