I am looking for a Del'Orto fuel pump

Hi Guys, thanks for responding so guickly. I should have been more specific. The fuel pump that I am trying to replace is off of my Vertemati S570 with a Del'Oroto 40mm carb (PHM model I think). Someone told me that the older Husabergs ran the same fuel pump as the Vertematis. It appears that the Mikuni fuel pumps might work. Has anyone replaced the Del'Orto with a Mikuni? I don't know the flow rate of the Del'Orto. Any info would be helpful. Thanks,Ken

I would bet the pump on the Vert is a Mikuni (The carb is a Dellorto). Perhaps a post on Thumper Talk is in order.

Use such often for Methanol conversions.

I had such carb in my possession 2 months ago, after I bought it by mistake.

Just to be sure, Dale, there is no chance you can adapt this to a later Husaberg?

The one on the photo is I think for a Guzzi. Take note of the last letter, it's Italian for left or right, and that's also the side where the adjustment screws are (on the older Guzzi twins, the carbs are side by side).

This site here sells Dellorto parts:

Once upon a time most all PHM Dellorto careburetors came equipped with an accelerator pump.

Albeit I have not installed said carburertor on a Husaberg, I am certain such to be possible.

Well, when I tried to fit the carb (not my suggestion, ok) it seemed that two things needed to be done:

1-Buy an intake adapter
2-Reshape the intake manifold (airbox side) to accomodate the pumper

Obviously some rejetting would need to be done and that is something that you could do, but would it be worth doing at all?

Not that I want to try it personally, my carb is awesome as is, thanks.

In my opinion, no.

Such a carburetor provides for a good Methanol conversion foundation and / or vintage circa replication.

That could make up for some good moonshine conversion!

Worth a try? Hmm ok
Why waste good shine :drinking:  . Besides most good shine has to much sugar in it :morning: . There is a big difference between the 2. Alas haven`t seen any good in many a moon. The stuff you would want to run would have to be at least 190-200 proof and you can`t sample it :( because it is poison, different type.

Bill,

I will take your word as law... being from the hills of NC and all  I just love all the tid bits of information you can find here on the UHE. Say Bill, have you ever tried running a bootleg operation using the Husaberg as your runner vehicle? I bet that would provide for many exiting stories  Take care.

Regards,

You can find vac. type fuel pumps in a Dennis Kirk cat. for snowmobiles. These pumps transfer fuel from one side of the tank to the other like the older FE bergs. I would check and see if thats the case. Might be able to disassemble and inspect and get to work but in the cat. they don`t cost much so it might be cheaper to just replace.
Good luck and I hope this helps
