Also pick up an Optimate III battery charger and always keep it plugged in when not in use. Those YTZ batteries are a bit pricey and the Optimate will keep it in good shape.

Dan tells me even though it's left side kick, the bike is easy to kick start.

yes I have a battery tender for my husky.......... just as good as optimate I presume.

Its supposed to be the top charger for maintenance free batteries that need 13.5 volts to top off.

Just ordered "The Berg" 06 FE450e from Dan at MotoXotica. other mods issues to be aware of. Break in advice? etc etc clue me in boys. I OWN A HUSABERG I'm stoked.
Put on the tall aftermarket seat and go riding, that's it!

Hbg Force Part. I used one on my 470. It was kind of nice, because I could put the short (but HARD) stock seat back on for shorter pilots that wanted to try out the 'berg.

Husaberg does of course.we have it in stock!bob, you need the force depot accessory catalog.for sure a Husaberg hat!dan

That could be dangerous, they have some nice, but spendy goodies. I could easily drop $13,000 on a bike and a few Force parts (bad thing is that I want to, and would if I could).

yeah I saw that husy force neeman marcus catalog. I may be vain but only to a point of my helmet, jersey and matching blue Tech 8s. I won't be shopping that high end gucci stuff. all I want for now is maybe is the jersey and the coffe cup. :)

Dan will take care of me. He's da Man.

Next wednesday is my 51st birthday!

hey we ought to swap out the seat too. :)

Bob
congrats on the purchase. You will be very happy with the performance of the 'berg. Most everyone that rides a 'berg is faster on it than on any other bike (in the woods). We have put beginners on an fe400e when things got rough (steep, slippery, rocky), and have been amazed at how much better they rode and the nasties became non-issues. I've had the entire bike apart and can tell you that it is the easiest to work on/ adjust bike I ever owned. You are in an enviable position owning a te510 and a fe450. Welcome to the Force (what am I saying, I'm just a Hbg wannabe again!?!?).

thanks again. glad to know it's easy to work on. I am a committed motorcyclist now, but still a tenderfoot on mechanics. Having a bike that has good access to stuff and easy valve checking, etc is important. It builds my confidence. nothing worse then not being able to get to stuff and sweating while your fingers are droping nuts and hurting to get in there. i have learned patience and thoughtfulness step by step procedures is the key to servicing your bike.

bike is being ship out of canada? distribution center I guess one of or the last FE450e there ubtil the next boat load which is soon.

should see the bike at motoxotica next week. I ordered the optional cooling fan. I asked protect enduro concepts if they have anscotts dampenr under bar mount that I can use as bar risers, unless u guys know of bar risers for my bike. Is the Magura bar and Bar mount hardware same as KTM in dimensions? so woul KTM bar risers work?

I really want handguards this time that mount to the triple clamps, but the bar riser solution may out distance the bars from normal hand guard triple clamp mounts working is my problem. thats what happended with my husky, protect under mount as bar risers and my Cycras...so have the Cycras mounted to the bar on the 510.

ah... skid plate I need that, some one above gave me the list I need to check that...I will. Tall seat. 2.37 gals is fine. I wont be doing a large tank. I have a large tank on the husky. I want the Clean lines of the Husaberg to stay put.....and 2.37 gals is plenty for the 50 mile rides I usually do, heck that will probably do 60 miles.

break in , oil change and then I'm ready to ride. the firts real ride on my husky last year was a BIG THRILL and education. I fully expect my first ride on the FE to be big smiles and educating too in how different and good the ride will be..

bigbob,
KTM bar risers/stabilizer mounts will work. As far as the Cycra tripleclamp mount hand guards go...they will not work on the WP forks. It's too bad because I run them on my Husky as well and I really like them. You may have to try Fastway, they make a tripleclamp mount hand guard setup for WP.

thanks guys, I'll report back on my progress out fitting the bike. I'll post a separate thread on jetting.......or maybe i wont have too maybe Dan's secret jetting mix is all good. Ya know with each new bike you fight the last bike's battles at first till you learn its a different beast and has different needs..........Like the tall seat. Husaberg has a tall seat option who would have thunk it. That is so cool!

Tha utah skid plate looks perfect. is that hole set up right for Berg oil changes. heck I dont even know how to change the oil yet on Da berg.

I just realized with two bikes now I'll be more willing to tear down one bike and do heavier maintence like steering bearing grease jobs etc. Does the Berg Steerin bearings come greased good from the factory? as does the Huskies, where the Jap bikes are poorly greased.

what else..... I learned quick in mud the Husky rear brake pads go fast....wierd how that is. Dan told me that and he was right. any unquie things I should know? or just RIDE it?

BOSS has a very cool looking skid palte (HDPE, I resume?), plastic is much quieter when you are clunking over rocks.

New Husaberg jersey surprize:

Came home today from ridng my second only enduro- a family enduro meaning easier, 65 miles at my local woods spot. had a blast, did well, but what made the day extra great was I got home and there is a NEW HUSABERG Jersey in my mail box. wow how , why did this come here from Brett Saunders/Husaberg in vallejo, ca.....Did Dan order this for me?? Does every new owner get one? I haven't even closed the deal yet I mean we have a deal and the bike is ordered but Dan does not have the bank check yet and I have a new jersey? very cool.

I saw lots of fastway bar mounts and stuff today on ktms at the enduro so I like the fastway system that and the Protect enduro under bar dampner mount as bar riser for me may work good.

Thats nothing bob. Pretty soon the race promoters will be handing you trophies. Such is life when you join the Force. :D

Brett Saunders is Supermototeam on the site, and he's the west coast representative for the states. He's always on the lookout to make sure new owners(and old) are happy owners. He's also been known to help grease the wheels when something goes awry.

that, or he could think you have a cute butt.

thanks,

well guys he really made my day, Thanks Brett! Tropies? I finished FIRST in my Class of C Super Senior today out of 20+ CSS riders at the local family enduro Crazy miner at georgetown, CA

I will wear my new Husaberg jersey and ride my FE450e at the next enduro I enter, the wild piglet.

Why wait for the wild piglet? The Cowbell is next weekend. It is the easiest d36 enduro I have done so far.
