A friend with good conections and insight to KTM ( supplier)
told me that ktm will stop husaberg production in 2009.

KTM will push street bikes (cars and quads) and her own bikes.

The since some years adviced new husaberg with fuel injection, designed nearly the cannondale or the new BMW 450 will never come!

What do you think about this statement?

No husaberg ? Sure ??

If this is honestly the case then it's KTM's loss. Husaberg & its followers will always prevail as it now stands as its own brand outright.

Someone posted a link today ( or yesterday ) about Thomas ( whateverhisnamewas) & his plight from Husqvarna to the creation of Husaberg. I read the entire link & the awsome journey that got us to where we are today with the Husaberg brand. ( Cant link it cause I dont know how )

Husaberg wont disappear as long as ours ar$es point to the ground.

Personally I think that Husaberg has reached the next level & will produce its new bike's of it own accord with its own finances.

Long live the HUsaberg !! :D

Ahhhhhh,

The rumor mill in full production...........

Rumors are like arses, everybody has one.

If they let Husaberg go away that would be a shame. I have "met" so many good guys here and a couple of gals too (Elf & Lizardkiller) I have ridden dirt bikes along time raced a little and been on a class winning Baja team. Never have I seen so many Hard Core guys as here, so much knowledge so willing to share info & help each other. Let's face it, it's because the bikes are Hard Core ! Wise men find thier way to quality and performance.

I hope its a wrong rumor too .
But the guy is a little closer to mattighofen then you.

So what if they stop production here in Austria/KTM?
The Husaberg-brand is making money for KTM, so why sould KTM sell their "unwanted(?) daughter"?
I actually think it would a good to outsourced production back to Sweden where all the development takes parts...

Until there are names, titles, and dates attached to any statement there is no authenticity to any statement, it's all just heresay. AKA rumor.

Yes Ozrider I'm doing my bit, like everyone should that believes in something. I probably got sucked in by the rumour & am a little bit biased but that cant be helped. My new toy doesnt get here for another 2 weeks at least so I havent riden a Husaberg for over a month. Got major withdrawal symptoms now. :(

I guess someone should tell Roland from HSB this as he told me personally that he was flying directly to Austria from the CDN WEC, to make the final inspection of the new 09 bike. There is 2 versions of the bike and they need to pick which one they are going to sell.

The 08 production run is going to be quite small as they are hoping to release the 09 in the spring of 08 from what I am hearing as well.

I have heard that the 09 line was quiet exciting! Big things coming down the line.

Woohoo! This is what I am waiting for. All this "sky is falling" crap gets old. Fact of the matter is, KTM bought Husaberg and it's resources for a reason, not just short term gain to make the RFS (but that was a good idea in itself). Roland and hte team in Sweden are extremely good at designing / engineering / testing 4T enduro bikes and as the 4T enduro bike wars get stronger, KTM / Hbg will give buyers two options to buy and thus capture more market (think Volkswagen Toureg / Audi Q7 / Porche Cheyenne). I eagerly await what Roland and team have up their sleeves! The downside to this is that 2008 model sales will likely be slow, which will be hard for dealers to make money off new sales, but may be somewhat of a blessing, because many of us will jsut further wear out our older Hbgs and need lots of parts?

Calling Roland ?

If we could even get him or a member of management to chime in that would go along way to put this rumor to bed!
Thanks :?:

08 new berg should be seen in australia about February or march 08. kick start or not kick start that is the question.

They don't "chime in". It's kind of like religion, you just have to trust that they're there ;)

thanks,

Thank you for your post Scott. Looks like she's not dead yet!!

Any consultant would tell KTM to study the many Cadillac/Chevrolet type relationships in the auto world.

There are a lot of things you can experiment and tinker with on low production run/high sticker price lines that translate over to a higher production run/low sticker price line.

The brand has also re-earned quite a bit of respect in the European off road community over the last few years.

KTM would be foolish to throw away the prestige (and higher price) the blue and yellow bikes bring. Put the high dollar experimental parts on Husabergs and test them for the production model KTMs. (I don't anticipate KTM distributing the bikes bringing the prices down, do you?) Maybe if they can turn a profit on the bikes by consolidating distribution, we have a better chance of the Husaberg line sticking around.

Everything I've heard points to KTM keeping the blue and yellow girls around for a few more years. But I have been known to know nothing. :(
I'm not an industry insider, and I don't play one on TV.

I can't wait to tell my KTM buddies that I ride a Cadillac and they ride Chevy Cavaliers!!! :D :D :D

Too long those KTM guys have thought they were the cream of the crop.

I would think an official Husaberg/KTM relationship would do wonders for the Husaberg brand. The majority of casual riders I chat with are ignorant of the current H/KTM relationship. "What's a Hussa-burg? Isn't that a chainsaw?"
