Husaberg 650 noisey

Hi guys, I have a 650 fs 2004 , on cold start up I run it with the choke on for around 20 seconds. When I take choke off then the engine makes a tapping sound and then the engine dies, I then repeat process but leave choke on for longer untill it is warm. Is this just because it isn't warmed up as when it is warm and ticking over it is fine. Is quite a loud knocking noise only when cold. Any help advice is appreciated

A short vid with good audio would really help. Sounds very similar to mine, which I'm hoping is the cam chain slapping around.

Noisey berg

Yes mine sounds the same tho when it is on the choke or is warm then the noise is gone, and also my rattle isn't constant it sort of comes and goes , I think mine might be louder, I will make a YouTube account and make a vid, thanks

I think it might be your auto decompression spring making this noise.
If you adjust your idle up a little the noise should go away.

Yes thanks guys , I have adjusted it and it has started to go away or is ALOT quieter, tho this has given me another problem now after riding for about 20 min it sounds like the bike is over reving when I'm pulling up at lights , so I turn the idle down and that solves the problem but then I'm back to square 1 with the noise from cold.

On my CV carb'd DR-Z, the idle is too high when the fuel screw is too lean. Not sure that happens with an FCR though ... Other things can cause a hanging idle? Vacuum leaks afaik?
