how often do u change ur oil filter

Oil after every ride. Oil is cheaper than metal. Ride ='s 60 to 70 miles plus.

I use the Scott's oil filter ( the only reusable one to buy) and clean it after every 10 oil changes or so.

Oil every 3 hours. Filter cleaned every other oil change. Scotts stainless oil filter . Motorex Synt 4t 10w50
The highly recommended Husaberg oil.

You can still buy the GOOD DELO 400 15W-40

Go to the Delo web site and find the nearest distributor. Mine had 5 gallon pails of it, product number 235101. The distributor stated that Cheveron doesn't supply it (in California) to him anymore in 1 gallon plastic bottles.

I use an oil change pump to transfer it into my old plastic Delo 1 gallon bottles for more convenient use.

I have the PC Racing Stainless one as well as the Scotts. Not much difference in the two holding them side by side. By the time the Scotts got to me here in Canada (UPS sucks-$30 broker fee) it was $150. I paid $60 for the PC one. Let you know which bike blows up first, but I will be watching the magnets closely. The folks at Scotts were really nice, and I think if I had known UPS was going to screw me on the charges they likely would have shipped it USPS for me had I requested and saved me big bucks.

anybody know where i could find a Scotts stainless oil filter in a European shop? All the websites I found are American, the shipping will probably cost more than the filter itself :D

nobody has them here in Romania (figures...)

I'm checking on how much it would cost to have a Scott's filter shipped to you.

It will be $33 USD, and 5 days shipping time. The cost of the filter is $69.95 USD + my local sales tax of 9.25% to =76.42.

I'll be happy to do the leg work for you if you want it. It's the best filter in the business. Several of the other knock off or imitation Scott's stainless filters use an inferior epoxy to attach the filter to the end caps and it becomes soft at normal operating temps.

Where as the Scott's epoxy does not get soft at normal or even extreme operating temps. I have one in each of my 3 Husabergs and they have worked out great for me. My Mechanic who does my major engine work always comments that my motors look like new inside.

Let me know what you want to do.

Youve got PM!

I change the Delo 400 @ +/- 5 hours and change the paper filters I get from Ballards for $7.50 each for lots of 10 at 20 hrs. 33,000 km on the 501 and going strong means it can't be causing me any problems.

15/40
DELO
Diesel Engine Lubricating Oil

Perhaps a bit thick if the ambient temp is < 0 degC and you must kick it when cold, because it can be hard to get it to spin fast enough.

Don't get the LE, Low Emissions version as it apparently has less of the Berg good stuff in it.

Okay,

For all of you who would like a Scott's oil filter, including the guys nice enough to send me a pm about it.

I spoke with my friends at Scott's yesterday at length about people overseas wanting to buy the best oil filter on the market and here is what Eric, a long time employee had to say after I had mentioned handling the purchasing and posting of their oil filters for my overseas friends here at the UHE.

Eric suggested to just use their on line store to purchase the filters directly from them:

http://www.scottsperformance.com/produc ... e=Husaberg

Scott's accepts paypal, mastercard, visa, and discover.

When you fill out the shipping instructions just select UPS GROUND. Then, when you get to the address information section, there is a box at the bottom for special instructions. In this box tell them you want your oil filter shipped USPS (United States Postal Service). The USPS is considerably cheaper than UPS when shipping overseas.

All of the guys who work at Scott's are top notch and will handle your order competently and efficiently. You should have your oder in about 5 business days from the date of purchase ( our post office works Saturdays too).

If you have any issues ordering from them let me know and I will help you out. If you still want me to help you out I'll be glad to do so, but, Eric assured me that it was a no brainer to get the filters to you.
