the question is for husaberg 450 2009!

how many klm enduro can you make with one tank? ??

ps, can i find a manual somewhere free on line?

thanks

My 2010 FE570 gets around 140 km's to bone dry on power setting doing a mix of tight single track and fast flowing track open beach.

WOW 140km to one tank? that's almost 90miles to a tank. Has your bike's ECU been reflashed with a different fuel map? I think about 70 miles is about the most I could get out of a tank and that was in soft ignition setting and not revving the bike out at all.

Just the standard maps that came with the bike from new. I did that fuel test when the bike only had about 150 kms on her. I always like to do a fuel test straight up, so I know where the bikes limits are. It only gets better when the motor is run in after 1,000 plus kms.

I filled her to the brim and went riding (mix of hard, fast open stuff and some tight single track)
The low fuel light started flashing about 95km's and stayed on steady at 105 kms, I then went to the 142 km mark before the motor finally quit (I had spare fuel with me)

This is pretty much what I expected anyway, as my KTM 530EXC used to get about 150 kms, and that is a carby bike with a 9.2 litre tank, so this compares favourably.

I admit that I am no David Knight, but I am also no 'Slow couch' either ! Some of the riding in that test was top gear doing 140 kph plus for stretches (I like to open her up during the run in process), I was also pulling some wheelies and doing some speedway sliding. Not a lot of short shifting either, just revving her out before changing. (again, my method of running in)

WOW....like I said that's awesome you can get that kind of range from your bike. I hit 100km and I start to get really nervous and I've only done that a couple of times. I've actually just traded in my 09 FE570 for a 10 FX450 so it'll be interesting to see if it gets better range and by how much. I'm going to get a 70degree racing sub frame tank not next years racing season so I don't have to worry about running out of gas is race conditions anymore.

The first proper ride on my 2011 FE570 gave 79 miles (126kms) from full to 'run out of fuel' on some of Kent's finest trails.

The bike is stock but has factory mapping switch which I tried on all three settings.

Eyspy, do you think you would make 200klm if you had the 70 degree subframe tank on your bike also?

I am looking at buying a 570 but I need at least 200 klm range, preferable 230klm.

Well the subframe tank is supposed to give an extra 4 litres (I think ?? or close to it)
Do the maths ---- my consumption is about 16.4 kms per litre extra 4 litres means an extra 65 kms add that to the 140 = 205 kms

But others on the same bike are not getting as good as economy (put that down to rider style and or the bike),
My bike may be a freak or just my style, who knows ?, but with the extra tank and a few Platypus flexible 1 litre bottles in your backpack you will be assured of that distance. I have been using these bottle for years now and they work a treat, very flexible whilst being tough. Fill your tank then roll the bottle up to nothing and fit in your pocket.

Just an update on the fuel. I went for another ride on the weekend and did a second fuel test (everyone else saying they got way less had me doubting my first test results)

The bike was in power setting
Akrapovic pipe
1300 km's on the motor

Lots of tight single track
some open high speed beach work
and open dirt roads

The bike was full when I took off, the low fuel light came on at 110 kms (5 km further than last time), completely empty at 148 km

So the results are ever so slightly better than last time. Pretty happy with that

Went 97 miles (156 km) on my stock tank this week-end. Single track, some two track, and maybe ten miles pavement.
I like this stock map. Don't want the "comp" map. I always run the aggressive setting on the map.

Hay eyspy,
Is this with standard gearing?
Cheers!

Up to 700 kms with the 38 l Safari tank on my DR650.

What bike are we referring to?

Steve

get the extra tank and you can always take an extra 2ltrs in a bottle and strap it to the mudguard or to your pack, and once you are down 2 litres in the tank pour it straight in, thats what we all do on the big rides
