well i PM'd you and said i could do it but helping you is a pleasure!

just undo everything and put it in boxes neatly so you know where it is and label it.

download our engine rebuild page and read the doc, download the factory manual from downloads
you need pin nose pliers to pull outwards off a shaft
flywheel puller
usual tookit
spark plug socket for your plug (rare size)
flat nose pliers for the camchain circlip
2-legged puller for gears on left of crank, auxillary and the camchain gear behind it
30mm socket for the big nuts - air gun to do it.

remove as much as possible whilst in the frame so that will be :

rocker cover
waterpump assembly
sidecover
gear nuts undone and pull gears on crank and auxillary shaft
clutch
camchain tensioner, camchain, camshaft
cylinder head
gear selector system

remove engine

split cases with the right side up.

turns out theres something in the head dunno what it is but i noticed it might have come off the cam chain gear?

From the photo it sort of looks like one of the rocker arm adjustment screws broke and then fell out when you lifted off the cover?

look at the pic of the the upper cam gear, you'll notice a hole above the black allen bolt,my guess is that it came out of this hit the cam chain(see dent to the right of the black bolt)look at the the rocker cover its gouged the casing were the timming chain runs, but this does'nt seem to have caused caused the gerarbox to jamb, dunno what ill have to do to fix this part thats come of the cam gear?..........

You were lucky.

"faktor" had exactly the same part fall out on his 05 650- but it jammed up, broke his timing chain and punched a hole in his rocker cover.

Seems a weak point.

A pity Husaberg didnt adress the issue like KTM did on the RFSs when they were having issues with the decomp stop bolts breaking.

is the engine still locked or will it turn yet?

yes that is the decomp stop bolt and you need to find as much of it as possible. if the engine ios still locked then march onwards sir!

so the bit thats come off is'nt a balance weight, how do i take the cam chain off,so i can take the head off,and is it just a matter of spliting the case to have a look at the gearbox.

Hi.
Weld the stop for the autodecomp weight, then it stays in place.

You have to split the camchain to remove the camshaft. then you can reach the cyl headbolts.
Head off then you can split the case.
Why dont you read all availeble info in the workshopmanual and the doc here at the forum?

There are also some exploded parts views in the parts books, with brief description of the part, so that should tell you what else you'll be looking for.

I will second the opinion that you are very lucky to have not had that piece get into somewhere else and wreak total havoc!!

Slightly off topic, what kind of shock is that?

im sorry lads but i'm giving up at the first fence,so keep your eyes on ebay and get yer cash out.

DaleEO its a WDS air shock and at a £1000 is one of the best rear shocks you can buy for a berg...

WDS shock worth £1,000..... for everything else there's ebay.

mate, you'll never get good money for it on ebay. get the engine out and send the phucking thing down here. it'll cost you your fuel tank to do it plus your bits. can you really say that the bike isn't worth that when you are only going to get £600 on ebay?

Taffy could take a Berg apart and put it together with his eyes closed. You bike seems way too nice to part out for a potentially minor problem.

I second that notion.Send it to Taffy-definately far too nice to become a parts bin special.
