hi all My fs650e starts first time everytime when its cold,I go for a blast and stop the engine after a couple of minutes i try to start it on the electric start and it just wont have it at all then i kick her afew times and she fires up, once ive got home leave her for an hour and she fires up first time, its abit embarassing when someone says nice looking bike mate an someone else says yeah its alright looking nice but it wont start, cheers, mick

get the ignition timing set PROPERLY as per the doc and also buy a new atomiser and needle and check that you have a 33 PJ in there.

just my opinion of course!

Your 2003 has a Dellorto carb. Try changing the pilot/idle jet to the next leaner available jet (smaller #). The Dell has no hot start circuit so it is imperative that you lean the pilot/idle jet as much as possible as the bike craves a lean fuel mixture when hot.

cheers taffy i should have mentioned it has a 41mm fcr carb with a full titanium akroprovic off road system, also when ive been out and about theres a thin film of oil all over the casings i think its coming from the top end somewhere oooooooooooooooooo the joys of husabergs

eric is still right. lean it out at the bottom a little. the best way is to get the third letter on the needle code right.

it starts OB or OC and then three letters more. you want the 5th letter code.

the PJ wants to be no bigger than a 40/42 tops. less for you would really help.

even the MJ wants to be down 160 way.

as eric says. leaner is better.

um,i had the same problem with three different berg's
did you just set the valve lash???
my fs650c started if i touched the button hot or cold,.
i set the valves on the tighter side and she wouldn't start hot,
i put the valves in the middle of the tollerance and she fires hot,..
hope that helps you out
